So a couple of our better credentialled ITKs have SOS remaining at the club post the Draft.

There may well have been a clash of wills someone where along the line but it would be fair to suggest that if SOS continues on at the club those in the media who have tried to turn this into a major chasm at our club will again be shown to be parasites & will owe SOS, Liddle, Lloyd an apology & the club generally a massive apology. I will be watching for this very closely.

Not restricted to those in the media if you read this thread. No risk, we eat our own.

Some of the more esteemed posters were inclined to say sos didn’t do a great job with later picks recently.
Now I’ve seen 3 come out today in support of him and all bag out Liddle.
Weird shit.

The two situations don't require to be bound.

Silvagni hasn't done a great job with later picks and rookie picks and there may be other issues looked down on also.
That doesn't though mean that the club needs a mutiny on its hands.
If we haven't been doing one thing particularly well, we have to get better at it and there may be other means to do it, sooner than throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

We have to remember that this bad blood has been in play for months now, though. It didn't start yesterday.......and that's the problem.

If an ITK wants to claim the CEO is moronic he needs to be in a place to have the capacity to control those things.

Liddle did a fantastic job at the Tigers, beat out some very good candidates to get the gig at the Blues and has done a fantastic job we are supposed to believe he is a moron because some ITK who is wrong as much as he is right says so?

How about we apply a little bit of logic to these rumours before going off the deep end.

Fantastic job selling memberships... should stick to that

The complaints on here about our list are ridiculous (yeah I would’ve like Kelly too); we have to look at our list as a whole. A lot of the people in this thread gunning for sos are now complaining about the club tearing itself apart, calling for MLG to be held accountable or even having a go at a itk poster.

Yes we all have flaws but we should be united in saying that we are going to take all our flaws and shove it right up the rest of the competition.

If Liddle is moronic 10c, then it doesn’t say a great deal about our recruitment process.

Maybe we were sucked in by the achievements at Richmond and his contribution to that success?

neil balme may have a say in Richmonds success, not Liddle

Question, with Sos’s less than enthusiastic response about Dan Butler on trade radio during trade period, could Butler be another one that was toured without SOS’s knowledge ?

No, SOS was involved in discussions regarding recruiting Butler but it was driven by other members of the recruitment team like Agresta .

John Nicholls was the heart and soul of the club and he left the club in 1975 and the club survived- Alex Jesaulenko left the club in 1980 and the club survived.

The club will survive SOS’s departure- the opportunity for us now is to find an even better List/Recruiting Manager.
You're missing point. It's not about individuals

A divided board is not great for a club...has this not been the issue behind the demise and we see another self implosion over minor issues.
SOS means quite a bit to the club...
he knows that
we know that
Liddle knows that

something not quite right......could this be a warning sign things are still not flowing behind the scenes

SOS has always said we get the best players to the club, only thing is he gets to make that choice

Also the Bolton dismissal ,this may be associated and reflect further internal club relationships since that time
Lets not forget it must have been a turbulent year...and the trade has seemed a mess.

Sos may be struggling after some indifferent times.

Agree with this, I’m totally confused...a lot of grey going on from OR and B70 that I would appreciate a factual timeline of events as they understand it.

In retrospect, it seems that Ellis’s manager may have been justified in his criticism of the Blues; about there being confusion as to who was actually directing list management and recruitment at CFC.

I also wonder whether, and if so to what extent, other clubs knew of CFC‘s purported “every ones a list manager” approach during the trade period. I hope it didn’t contribute in any way to GCS‘s alleged back tracking on the Martin deal late in the process.
Didn’t want Ellis anyway

Looking at it now Ellis’ manager was in the right. We stuffed him around but I’m also not sure if his manager was doing his job either if he hadn’t spoken to SOS???? If had only talked to Liddle that seems very strange and negligent. If he had talked to other members on SOS’ team then the entire situation looks even worse for us.

The part about us not getting our targets as a result of this though has no connection imo. We put our offers forward and the other clubs didn’t like it, that wouldn’t of changed just because they didn’t know who was calling the shots for us.

There’s a BIG difference between not being happy with SOS’ later picks and wanting Liddle to take control of list management.

Doesn’t mean those posters are saying SOS is doing a bad job overall, simply that later picks is an area SOS could do better at.

Running a business by removing someone that could do better in 15% of their role is, well, bad business. Particularly when they’ve done a very good job elsewhere. You just work at improving that 15%.

Fully agree. To play the devil's advocate, I'd just add that we aren't expecting a lot of high-end picks in the future now, so bring able to pick talent from the lower end of the draft pool is going to be very important. Particularly if we manage a period of sustained high performance.
