Maybe if we post a bit more and get this thread up to 100 pages then Demetriou will listen to the people and overturn the decision.

There seems to be four types of posters on this massive thread:
(1) honest and intelligent football supporters who realize that Baker was seemingly hard done by to receive 7 weeks for a bump when there are no witnesses or cameras;

(2) pathetic one-eyed biased (non-Fremantle) supporters who don't like Baker and lack the necessary intelligence to form an opinion based on common sense;

(3) Fremantle supporters angry that their player has been struck and care not for facts (and whose opinion is therefore irrelevant); and

(4) St.Kilda supporters (myself included) who are also biased and are no doubt annoyed that Baker has received the largest suspension in a decade for a bump that was not seen.

baker didn't get 7 weeks for the hit on farmer - he got at most 4.

it just so happened that his poor record accounted for another 3.

unbiased indeed - how about stating the facts rather than a version.

argue whether he deserved 4 or not

thats not a bad idea. but we need some more excentric conversation to make sure it has the legs

i heard that farmer was today seen with demetriou at a coffee shop in north freemantle. a large brief-case was exchanged.

mmm thats the ticket!

Whether or not it was 4+3 weeks, or 2+5 weeks, or 8-3+2 weeks is irrelevant.

The fact is, Baker must sit out 7 matches because of his actions.

This case highlights a serious flaw in the process, when the old system of tribunal-based adjudication is merged with the new system of "points" to determine penalty.

When a case is taken to the tribunal, it is not compatible with this new points system of determining guilt based on loading for a prior record.

Anyone with common sense when giving a punishment in this case would have said 3-4 weeks was a fair and reasonable period for Baker to serve.

Not 7 weeks.

The two systems cannot be used in conjunction.

An instance will occur again that will highlight this.

I disagree - i think the system works perfectly

it punished serial offenders more harshly then those who are first time offenders.

everyone deserves a second chance - but not a 3rd or 4th or 5th

Interesting Analysis there....

Honest INTELLIGENT football supporters believe Baker was hard done by.....

Saint Kilda supporters angry at the length of his suspension

By powers of deduction......

Saint Supporters (Like yourself) = Honest Intelligent Football supporter??

Where were you when Johnson recieved four weeks for high contact in the field of play without anyone taken from the ground injured? (With a clean record)

You misunderstood my post - St.Kilda supporters were in class 4 - non-st.Kilda supporters were in class 1.

I find it rather hypcrtical that we have 100's of posts from Freo supporters having a go at St Kilda supporters for 'sooking' and supporting 'the process' . . . but they're still whinging about Johnson months after it happened.

No, Freo supporters aren't sore losers.

I read it but I still aint sure what you said, exactly how many have you had tonight? :D

I hope Back Backer (...) loses the appeal and gets another week :thumbsu:

Just imagine the bandwidth the sooking sainters would take up then!

but freo fans are all still bitter about johnson getting done early in the year when he nailed an opposition player ON CAMERA

where is the footage of baker nailing farmer??

so with that in mind we do have a reason to be angry at the system that has duly let us down

the way fremantly has whinged through a trainer by giving evidence to the tribunal is not a way to get respect from within the football community

it only strengthens all other teams' and supporters' beliefs that fremantle are a joke of a football club

If it was done duly then you don't have much to complain about do you?

BTW love your name :thumbsu:
