Yeah worth a punt but not for much.

Seen as how he's uncontracted, perhaps we could take him in the pre-season draft if he's eager to remain in WA. If not, he's got other options there.

I doubt the club would do that to the Dockers but I think it would be the best way to pick him up if they want to have a go with him. Just a thought anyway.

Koops!

No way - why on earth would we want another injury prone ex-Docker - Greg Harding ring any bells??

Koops and harding are chalk and cheese Koops can actually play, has amazing skills...though I will grant you has had injury difficulties..I think he is worth a punt as long as we do not give up much for him...a late draft choice or a pre season draft pick up is a fair price.

Koops won't come cheap? Yeah right. He would be worth a second or third rounder at best.

Remember he couldn't even crack it into your line up.

There I was having a bit of respect for the garlic munchers. After all they have the most flags in the WAFL bar one. If you want Koopsie you can have him as a swap for kerr , Chick or Sampi. ;)

He did his shoulder pre-season so didn't get games early then got a injury towards the end of the season and didn't get a chance to get back in to the side because we didn't get any injuries at that time.

But yeah, wouldn't expect a pick under 30 for him. Too many injuries, and not enough runs on the board. Talented player though.

I can't see him fitting in the lineup to be honest. I think he's a handy player, but he won't get a a game ahead of Jones, Embley or Chick who are HFF players, and he really can't play many other positions.

The end of last season was the time to trade him - when his trade value was significantly higher and he showed the ability to play as an opportunistic half forward flanker or an attacking wingman/half back flanker. Given his injuries and inability to get the runs on the board this season, we wouldn't get much more than a second round pick for him.

Also, given the off-field relationship between Connolly and Worsfold, I highly doubt Worsfold would poach him via the pre-season draft. Although, given their past history of having East and South Fremantle boys turn their back on their own history and home town, I wouldn't be surprised. :o

Ummm, mate, that's called the WAFL. Has nothing to do with the AFL. I'm pretty sure Matthew Pavlich is from Alelaide, and Paul Haselby's from up Geraldton way.

What's the difference?

The last line of my post was more tongue-in-cheek than anything else. I was just a little taken aback by the suggestion of Black JuJu (who is usually a reasonable poster) to take Koops via the pre-season draft.

And excuse me for being pedantic, but the WAFL has *everything* to do with the AFL. If it wasn't for the WAFL, the AFL wouldn't exist and wouldn't be up to the high standard it is today.

To stick up for myself here, I did also ad that I would doubt the club would do that to the Dockers.

But hey, its what the pre-season draft is for isn't it ? - to pick-up unsigned/untraded AFL talent ? (and yes, youngster who didn't get drafted to start with).

It's a way of picking him up, an option the Eagles may have if he a.) wants to try his luck elsewhere. and b.) is eager to remain in Perth.
But yeah mate, its unlikely to happen like that.

Koops

According to the newspaper, he has played 78 games in 8 years and is 25. I would call that injury prone - and I don't think we should be picking up a 25 year old anyway.

If it came to a choice, I would prefer Longmuir.

No point.

Troy Wilson taught us that lesson. We need to stop wasting the cap with players who will be with us a short while. No harm to Porno, but I do think he only had one good year and was just a bit player for us. He was fantastic when he crushed the opposition, but let us down with his kicking many times.

Better if we saved our money and paid players we need to keep like Wirrpunda and Matera.
