You're all dreaming. You guys have to learn that if you target a guy as your "prime target" then you are probably going to have to pay a little bit more than he is worth in order to entice his club to let him go. You have to offer something that would interest Port, players like O'Bree, Cole, etc are not going to do that, O'Bree is far to old and not good enough to make our midfield and Cole is a poor man's Shaun Burgoyne.

The only thing that would interest Port would be pick #7 (or Presti, but I doubt he would be up for trade), but even that wouldn't be enough seeing as though Salopek was rated a top 3 player in his draft and slipped to #6.

Something like #7 and Lonie for Salopek and a 3rd round pick.

I think you're forgetting Salopek hasn't done anything to up his value...

Dont get rid of our fullback.

Theres no one to replace him and he is a great servant of the club.

I'd do that trade, although Presti's a great player. However Melbourne don't need a Presti - he and Nicholson are too similar - they need a more "offensive defender"
