i read on afl.com that he has signes with port for 2 years. im shattered by that as there has been a lot of talk about him coming home and us maybe having a shot at him. would have been handy in our depleted midfield i reckon...

You guys wouldn’t have got him, with some of the crap offer’s I have heard you will be lucky to get anything at trade week. Sorry I take that back maybe Cupido.

You have been speaking with John Hook I take it?

He's kinda the authority on trades at Collingwood, and I haven't read a quote from him yet!

Now back in your box.

You guys got away with the short-term pain by not trading for Stevens, as you ultimately won the next flag. But let's look at facts. Are you telling us that you didn't need two of Ryan Lonie, Heath Scotland and our first round draft pick. You might have even got all three had you not been so dismissave. How was a side that had just made the Grand Final and had Pick 17 expected to come up with two picks inside the top 10?

speaking of Lonie, any chance of him being traded. Think he would be handy at Port, to play Shaun Burgoynes role down back, so Burger can go in the middle. What would it take to get him away from the Pies, and is he still contracted / rated by the Pies.

Lonie is player that we would be very nervous about trading unless it was part of getting a very good player. He's underachieved immensely, particularly in the last two years, but if he turned it all around at another club, we'd be made to look like fools. For this reason, I don't think he'll be traded. As I said, you had a chance to get him two years ago, but you kicked us in the mouth. That still hurts us, and I don't think we'll be coming to you first should we try and trade him again.

He wansn't part of any trade for Stevens, and if you wanted him you could have got him. It has hurt you a lot more than us. He isn't even that good and is being showed up in a ******** team. Go to the Carlton board and see they are constantly criticising him.

On Lonie, yes I remember him playing well a couple of years ago, like in the 2002 QF, but since then he seems like a bit of a maligned player down at Collingwood.

We offered you our first pick and one of Scotland and Lonie. It's hurt us becuase we would have loved to have him. But he was your player, and you got nothing apart from the junk-food short term pleasure of punishing Collingwood.

You'd be lucky to get a dud, let alone Lonie, I wouldn't think we'd trade with Port after the things that have happened.

No, Carlton aren't constantly criticising Stevens and he's a better player than Mahoney or Cassissi will ever be.But you won't admit that because your side carried them into September and they'd be worse than Nick in Carlton's side.
Cassissi's idol was Camporeale! ;)

Nick Stevens looks good in a good side, and I would argue Cassisi would be more valuable to our team then N Stevens.

But Port haven't got Stevens - you may have well p1ssed him up against a wall - ALL GONE.

But I see they guy you traded him for is doing well - who was that again?

How is that pick 17 you offered us going at Collingwood? Ooops, delisted this year. Could have had Nick quite easily!

Wrong way around. We asked for one of either Didak, Presti, Lonie or Cole. You lot said no to all 4. We asked for Lonie, you said no...not the other way around. You did not offer us Lonie.

That was our first offer. I'm pretty sure that by Friday morning we'd changed out minds. Didak was still off limits, but you could have had Lonie, Scotland and our first pick.

I don't think that's right. You also wanted the first round pick. The players are really hearsay anyway. At the end of the day I couldn't give a rat's. Presti is too valuable and so is Didak. How many decnt full backs are there? how many full backs have Presti's record on Tredrea, Brown, Lloyd, gehrig & co? Not many rate him but how many forwards actually beat him? name a single player that has the wood on him?

Cole you could now get for not much I suspect and ditto Lonie. Neither are as good as Scotland. At the time they were promising but have stagnated since. I bet Port over value players like Salopec just as much. We should have kept Scotland if we wanted a skilled running receiver. MM likes them too accountable for my liking and I suspect for Stevens' as well. Brown is a much better player and the trade we should always have pursued.

The old Didak chestnut comes up all the time but frankly he has something Stevens won't ever have. Players that can win games in 15 minutes with match turning skills are rare. Already Didak got us over the line in the 2003 QF and won at least 2 games off his own boot this year. That's not bad considering how many games he played and how fit he was and that's from the grand total of 5 wins. Add the fact he actually wants to be a Collingwood player and I am more than happy for him to play 200+ games in black and white stripes.

Take out Didak and add Stevens and I can't say we would have won a single extra game in 2004 or 2005. We can find another hard running receiver. We can't find another goal kicking small forward come skilled midfield option quite so easily.

Yep because we all work at Collingwood with Mick to decide on the trades between all the teams
