Still learning the game

Honestly im actually getting sick of clubs and coaches using excuses about younger players how they are "still learning the game".. This is just crap , I mean these guys have been playing footy since they are 6 or 7 years old and to tell fans that by the time they are drafted at 17 or 18 years old that they are still learning. Basically in the real world if your not up to doing your job and basically it is a job now days playing footy, you would be sacked from it. Anyway like to hear some other opinions...otherwise the AFL is just a glorified under 21s comp.
