Not ever 24 hours out from this loss to collingwood I am already sick of reading about how bad we are from these short sighted supporters who clearly do not know as much about the game or our club as they think they do.

We were missing:
Lovett, Flethcher, Prismall, McVeigh, Welsh, laycock, Reimers, Gumbleton Neagle, Watson.

It is just not common sense to make judgements about our chances this years based on the performance of the team that we played last night......Here is a few reasons why:

"Hille taps it straight down to watson, who quickly handballs to mcveigh who then fires it across to prismall who runs towards 50 before hitting neagle on a strong lead"

INSTEAD OF

"Belle-chambers loses the ruck contest, the ball falls to magin, who fumbles a handball to hocking whose kick falls short of the leading lloyd"

The disposal of the player we have to come in are about 10x better than that of the players they are replacing.

The improvement in our backline does not allow that wanka Anthony to kick 7 and allows feltcher and hurley to play are more offensive defensive role

The improvement wil be out of sight and i for one will be having money on us on anzac day

I couldn't care less about the actual loss, it was more the turnovers and poor disposal that was a bit disappointing. Would just like to see a bit more polish even though it's still 3 weeks until Round 1.

Fact remains our backline looks very vulnerable without Fletcher.

The disposal of the player we have to come in are about 10x better than that of the players they are replacing.

But some of the players who kicked poorly would be in our best 22-25 players.

I'm not getting too down on it but surely people here can comment on what they see.

You should have titled this thread the Prematrue Ejaculation thread. I can't remember the last time so many people blew up over one meaningless loss.

Lucas is finished, Myers is crap, Hurley is too slow, Zaka is now a 200 game player, blah blah blah.

You do realise Lucas has always been slow so I gues he should have been finished years ago.

All of you pinheads need to realise it is a mickey mouse game where gameplans and players are being looked at. The rules aren't even the same as the regular season, yet you all are up in arms about a loss to a team that was from all reports going to pants us as they are on the up at the start of the year.

Some of you will have a very long and unsatisfied year. What happens if we lose another praccy match. I think some of you will have to just give up then.

FFS - did we not thrash the dogs last year in the mickey-mouse cup?

Who gives a rats toss bag.

Get thrashed in round 1 and talk, until then - look at the big picture if your clearly limited brains can (going on the crap dished up on this forum the past few days).

Well im not crying about the loss but i am certainly concerned about our skill level in all three games. Lets face it we handed Collingwood 5 goals in the first quarter from turnovers. That part of the game is not good enough i could could not give a flying **** if it was only a NAB game. The skills simply should be better than they have been in all three games and i dont see how you simply turn the skills on for the main season.

That indeed was the major stat that had me worried, yet I'm not coming to any conclusion until the proper season has started.

I was not at the game so It was hard for me to tell, but when we turned over the ball, were there other options, or was it that the kick was heading in the right area but wasn't precise enough?

Reading this thread just reveals how many bandwagon supporters we have

It's niot a question fo ahving bandwagoners or not.

it;s a question of whether we want to be like Richmond, adopt the 'softly-softly' aprroach, and accept mediocrity like they have over the past 28 years.

I/m certainly no prepared to do that.

Fully agreee with ant's sentiments but will reserve judgement until Spike, Jobey. lovett and lanky return for Rd 1

Ant I didn't comment on the skills and yes it is a concern, but at the same time, until players settle down into position and gain confidence, skill levels are one of the first things that drop away.

Hence lets wait till the first round when the players minds will be 100% focused (well they better be) and the team will be settled. We still have a few more weeks to iron out the cobwebs. Yes we should be better, but it is mickey-mouse and the way we have approached it this year, suggests we should reserve judgment till round 1.

I actually think a reality check in the mickey-mouse comp can have great results - really makes the players aware that they need to flick the switch in a few weeks and that taking it easier will guarantee failure.

The skills are big concern 3 weeks out from the season, but McVeigh, Lovett, Watson, and eventually Prismall are good users by either foot or hand.

I thought the biggest issue was the kick from the half back line, rather than the kick inside 50.

It is imperative that we get the ball into the hands of Fletcher, Ryder, Hurley in the backline, and Lovett, Winderlich, McVeigh forward of the centre.

It's not all about just the skill level, although it does need some improvement from some.

But you have to remember when you're missing 6-7 from your best team and the depth starts to fall out, the inexperienced players start to lack confidence in where to run for teammates and gameplans start to fall over and decision making becomes harder on everyone.

P.S. Stick McPhee forward or in Bendigo.

Exactly, Add the players we were missing last night and we would've been singing a completely different song right about now.

I agree drop McPhee to Bendigo or trade at them end of the year. Might be able to get a second round draft pick for him

06 10 1982 = Knights will not trade.
