..now that Freo are an alright team, their barometer Pavlich is in career best form, and he always seems to play his best footy against us. i think the key tonight will be stifling his game. It's good that Bower is back in, but not sure he'll be good enough. We have to stifle Freo's run and carry, while not affecting our own game. It will be interesting how our three amigos - Betts, Garlett and Yazza - play as it's been a few weeks since they put on a show, and i reckon will be the difference.

I'd definitly back bower to, in the very least minimise Bower's influence close to goal.
Who else are Freo playing up forward that has any height? I havnt seen much of them this year, but it seems like we can just double team Pavlich close to goals

I'd give the job to Bower first up then make a change if needed.

The key, however, is stopping the Freo midfield. Pav usually stays up forward these days so if you limit the supply to him then you are already on top.

If he moves into the middle I wouldn't tag him.

Not a bad idea. I was thinking JR, but Walker might be an even better matchup. Walker has the pace, endurance, strength overhead and versatility to cover Pav. I'd like to see that matchup.

This will really require a team effort to stop Pav, now that Bower is back and playing he will match up on Pav, and we should have Thornton roaming loose in defence to help Bower cover Pavilenko
