Why hasnt Stuart Clark been in the mix for a game? correct me if im wrong but he hasnt retired has he? hes still playing for NSW and was a solid performer.....Thoughts? he averages 23.86 over hes career from 24 tests, so if he was dumped or didnt get a game for poor form, 23.86 is sitll a elite of the elite average ,10 below any of the likes of Lee, Johnson, Hilf and Bollinger

I was a massive fan of Clark, but his time has passed as a test match bowler. Picking him now would only further exacerbate our problems going forward.

The time is fast approaching where australian cricket requires a massive regeneration. The fact of the matter is that we have lost some truly champion players of our game and that a barren period was almost inevitable.

With Ponting, Hussey, Katich and Haddin all approaching the twilight of their career, our performances may only get worse. Bringing seasoned players into the mix constantly will only further hamper the stability of our side.

Copeland, Starc, Faulkner, Haezlewood, Pattinson and George are the bowlers we should be looking at within the next 12 months.

reading somewhere split second reflexes / sharpness decreases by the time you reach mid 30s, along with accumlation of injuries and niggles. only the exceptionally talented can compensate for it. During the later stages of his career, warne was nowhere near as sharp as he was during the mid-90s.

Did you see his test match in the Oval in the Ashes...there lies the point. Bowls party pies nowadays. Accurate but lets be honest is 125km pies going to trouble the English top order?
