I know Hodge said before he wouldn't start as a sub because he'd want to play straight away after the proper warm up, which makes you think he won't play altogether. He was also saying Bruce would be a great sub for them.

Wtf....this is going to screw 3 round averages big time. It is going to make trades very interesting indeed. For example we are all saying Ablett after round 9 BUT if Ablett runs half a game like Foley and gets a 50 then it may have to be sooner than later.

SC scoring has not allowed for this use of the sub AND as said before it could happen to any player who needs conditioning or coming back from injury. We cannot predict it but the scoring averages are thrown out.

Am I wrong?

and yes I spent countless hours deciding between Foley and Cotchin - you know which was I went ggggggrrrrrr maybe first trade is straight swap Foley to Cotchin lol

I had Foley in my team right up until the last minute (eventually ended up replacing him with Montagna after some changes). He looked okay until he was subbed off. I would keep him in your teams.

My apologies...apparently Sub is good for taking in ill players who may get through half a game...I wonder how many other coaches will take this "see how he goes" approach to ill players eg gastro

This has me second guessing my backline now. Had locked Bruce in but after hearing this am having second thoughts. I really hate this new rule.

Well im playing Lower instead of Otten and made Otten my emergency

Well im hoping he wont be the sub every week. Especially since all teams are new to the sub rules.

I decided to trade out Otten for Buckley and bring Lower onto the ground.

This allowed me to upgrade Pendles to Swan.

Might bite me in the bum but I can't justify having 180K sitting on the pine.

We will see what happens.

Unless you are just playing for round 1 honours I would say it's looking like a bit of a blunder.

Went for Bartel. He started very slow and was spewing because as you said, selwood dominated 1st qrter.
Happy atm, will see as the season goes on though.

I squeezed some cash out of my bench players to upgrade Bartel to Selwood!!! When I got a hold of fanfooty in the 3rd quarter I almost slit my wrists.
