I think Sturridge, Origi and Ings (Also Firmino if needed) as strikers would be enough.

If we sell Benteke and Sinclair, I'd expect us to buy someone that can develop in the U21s.

I dont want to be relying on a 20 year old kid as one of our strikers with the other two being a guy unproven at the top level and coming off a season long knee injury and a world class talent who spends more time in the treatment room than the pitch.

If Tekkers goes, we need to bring in a quality forward.

Firmino?

I think a GK and CDM needs to be our priority. Mignolet would be a good No.2 keeper and also I'm not sold on Hendersons foot.

How many ST do you need?

Does Emineke or Valencia leave?
Emenike will definitely be going back to Turkey.

Valencia I think if an offer comes in for double figures in the millions, we would probably sell him. He has the attributes with his pace and striking a football, but he's just way too inconsistent to be a good striker in the Premier League.

Sahko I would like to keep, but it depends if he demands a move in the off-season, he wasn't happy that Payet got a new big payrise apparently.

So Andy Carroll who I predicted a few months ago we would try to sell, is probably going to stay now as our main backup option.

We're just after a consistent striker who can score 20 goals a season really.

Firmino?

I like Firmino behind a striker rather than playing up front.

I think CM is somewhere we need to improve. A real quality CM to give Hendo and Can a battle for midfield spots. Wide areas too although we have Markovic coming back and of course GK. Probably need a LB too.

As for that spot, Enrique surely will go. I hope we keep Brad Smith even though he's 22 now.
I think Smith definitely stays on, has shown enough to be in and around the squad. Enrique is as good as gone, his absurd contract finally ends in the summer and he can stop stealing from the club.

With Gomez coming back and Flanno able to also play at LB, it's not a huge priority. But i'd rather see Flanno be Clyne's backup as he is a natural RB and Gomez play in the middle. So i'd love to see us bring in a proper LB to compete with Moreno and have Smith as backup and can play in cups.

What about the world class Lucas?

A more versatile 'forward', yes. An out and out 'striker', no.

Sturridge starts when fit. Unlikely but if he stays fit for the whole season then that's 20-25 goals.

If he's not, then you have a selection of:
  • Firmino - Has been excellent as a false 9 this season, averaging a goal/assist every 107 minutes, already has a 20 goal season under his belt from his time in the Bundesliga. He's scored 10 and assisted 9 since Klopp joined in October, I'd be comfortable predicting 15-20 goals and 10 assists for him in all comps next season.
  • Origi - May have just turned 21 but already looks capable of shouldering the load and replacing Benteke as that more powerful option at CF if that's what you're after. Used sparingly in the first half of the season due to injury and Firmino/Benteke being preferred, but has put in 9 goals since the start of December. I'd put him down for 15 goals in all comps next season.
  • Ings - 26 goals in the Championship in 2013/14, 11 goals in his first season in the PL with Burnley in 2014/15. Coming back from a knee injury but I'd predict a return of around 10 goals in all comps from him next season.
And that's assuming we don't sign a forward like Gotze who has obviously played plenty of football as a false 9 at the very highest level for club and country over the years.

That's 4-5 options there, more than any of our rivals in the Premier League. I just don't think another out and out striker is going to be a priority for us this summer. I'd be very surprised if we did sign one, even if we sell Benteke & Balotelli. In all likelihood they just wouldn't play.

I don't think the golden gloves has been won by a keeper outside of the top 4. So it's largely irrelevant when discussing players outside of that range. You have the equal 4th best defence in the league also. Let's not make out like he's been playing for Villa.

In every other one of the seasons he's won the clean sheet award, you had the #1 defence in the league.

Let's not make out something he's not, he's a good keeper, not a great one.
then there arent many great keepers out there. id still love to hear why he's considered behind these guys who are considered great. neuer beside, he's easily on par with the most highly rated

He isn't on par with keepers like Courtois and De Gea and Buffon. Would be the level below.

Where are those comparisons that were done a month or so ago which showed that DDG isn't really in the top 4 GK's this season?

Randy Marsh indeed.

You could say the same about Hart.

If he does move on for around £15m it would be a large transfer for a guy of his ability imo. He's not even close to the the Neuer and DDG level who went for amounts not too dissimilar (DDG was obviously younger)

He's never been tested in a poor side (I think the lowest he's finished is 3rd) and when the side has been below par, he's often come under criticism in those periods.
He got in the team of the year playing for Birmingham iirc.

Hart is a perfectly fine keeper. Isnt helped by having some nightmare players in front of him or the fact that he is an English keeper and they seem to have it in their DNA to go off the boil at times

I agree mostly. But look what happened this season. Origi missed chunks of the year, Ings the whole season and Sturridge pretty much half the season. So we were forced to play Firmino as a False 9 as Benteke was out of favour.

We still had Tekkers coming off the bench to try to affect games late in he piece.

Can it happen again? Unlikely, but if we sell Tekkers and dont bring in another forward we risk a repeat. Is Ings unlikely to miss the season again? No. Sturridge though is a walking injury risk. Origi has missed time too.

I guess it's just a calculated risk. With Sturridge and Origi firing now, we dont even have room for Benteke in the squad and Firm is up and about and then if Ings were fit, we would be spoilt for choice.

So we either roll the dice with the injury gods or we replace Benteke.
