Karius isn't half the goalkeeper Hart is yet. Will likely overtake him but that would be an impressive pair for a long time.
I'd rather us put games into and develop Karius.

If we didn't have Karius and had just Mignolet/Manninger then no doubt I'd start Hart.

You don't play football manager?

Nope. Not for for years.

I know him cause he was at our place, and there was always a bit of talk about bringing him in as a club trained player. But there wasn't too many putting his name forward as a potential summer signing in May.

I never posted it here but in October (just before the Jan window) I put this in the LFC thread.

We are linked with Karius to replace Mignolet

Merseyside clubs to battle for Joe Hart

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool will battle with Everton to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The England number one has been dropped by new manager Pep Guardiola in the opening two games of City's campaign (against Sunderland and Steaua Bucharest), leading to speculation that he could be shown the exit door by the former Barcelona manager.

And Sky Sports claim that Liverpool could capitalise on the situation and make an offer as they are still in search of 'a number one'.

They have already bought a goalkeeper this summer in the form of Loris Karius from Mainz. However, the 23-year-old is out for eight to 10 weeks with a broken hand. Moreover, he is seen as 'competition for Simon Mignolet rather than a direct replacement', meaning that should Hart sign, he would rise to the top of the pecking order at Anfield.

Everton are also believed to be interested in the Manchester City goalkeeper but are yet to register a bid.

We don't need him. Sounds like City leaking it so they can generate interest in Hart.

If we were that bothered I think we would have played him the first two games and "reluctantly" sold him for more than we're likely to get now.

Like most of these, people are just adding two and two. Even Everton I would think have done their business as far as keepers go. It's not often that changes are made after the season starts as it's the first position in the squad you have to have sorted for a new season.

Have to say I think if a circumstance occurred where he did move to a club in England, their supporters would be pleasantly surprised. Read too much of the internet and you would think he was Massimo Taibi reincarnated. 4 golden gloves with two different teams, 2 league titles which he played a key role in, 3 domestic cups, and he's been one of the best keepers in the champions league for the past three or four years. A much better keeper than he;s given credit for.

I'd love Hart as he shits all over Mignolet but can't see us doing it with him still at the club and can't see us being to offload him. Perhaps a double loan situation where we loan from City and we loan Mignolet to who cares where.
