The big news over here in the west is that the next 7 days are all forecasted to be at least 38 degrees. It is going to be hell.

Yes I would much rather it cold, wet and miserable instead of a few days of hot weather and tanned bishes

I don't mind the odd day or two of hot weather but 7 days in a row above 38 degrees is going to suck, might be even more as they haven't given a forecast beyond that.

The worst part is having minimum temps of 25 degrees or more, good luck sleeping without air-con.

At least in winter you can warm up as much as you want (heaters, more clothing), in Summer you can only cool down so much. On the hottest nights the fan just blows warm air around, and the a/c is way too loud to get to sleep. OP is spot on. And there may be chicks walking around revealing a tenth of their ass (OMFG!!1), but you also get this

100% Agree. Summer is absolutely shit. The next person who tells me they love Summer will get the terrorist hotline called on them because I can't stand it anymore.

Google says:

Tues: 41
Wed: 45
Thurs: 42
Fri: 45

BOM says:

Tues: 38
Wed: 40
Thurs: 40
Fri: 39
Sat: 42
Sun: 40
Mon: 39

I don't reckon it's going to get to 45, but it's certainly going to be a hot week. Apart from the threat of bushfires, Summer's awesome. We live right next to the Indian Ocean FFS, people should go and spend some time in Meekatharra or Paraburdoo to experience inland heat.

Dude, Sydney is going to be rainy and 20 degrees for at least the next week and has been for the last 2. Summer does suck.

Exactly. We have had ONE day over 30 degrees since March last year. It is ridiculous........send that 38 degree heat our way, it hasn't been warm enough to go to the beach.

I don't mind Summer days anywhere from 20 degrees-35 degrees. We have had quite a lot of days where I live in Melbourne where it has been in this range even had a 19 degree day a couple of weeks ago (a blast back to Winter). Anything above 35 degrees is unbearable with that hot northerly wind.

I don't mind summer. If I had to choose either permanent summer or permanent winter I'd pick permanent summer. But I like both in different ways. Mind you I work indoors.

Still not sure what autumn and spring are supposed to be. Milder versions of the 'big two' seasons I guess.

Yeah awesome. i did this but with the beach today, the coldness of the water was blessingly refreshing. Perfect day to sit on the lawn at Adelaide oval.

yeah but cmon it's not as good as the pacific:D.
And i really hope sydney does warm up, i wanted to go to Bondi for a day or two:(

I love the heat, what i hate (as in the case of the Melbourne summer) is when the heat builds up over the course of a few days. Only to die down and giving us a streak of cold weather days. It annoys me as it usually takes me 2-3 days to get used to the heat, to the point where it doesn't phase me. Then when it goes back to being cold for the next week i'm back to square one and have to get used to it again in 2 weeks time.
