David King also said last night on on the couch that Peter Wright will be the best of the bunch

Ox is not a great judge - he didn't rate Tom Lynch as one of the best forwards in the game at the start of the year and he wasn't worth $800,000 p.a.

We need to realize the only time the Vic media will rate our players is when they are out of contract and can be linked to a Melbourne club
They can be contracted and they still get linked to a Melbourne club eg swallow to north, Ablett returning to Geelong

Understandably you guys see it a certain way...but Im not sure Id agree with that exactly. Especially if the comment is about 2mp not getting a vote in the Rising Star. The RStar thing is very imprecise .... a while ago I know but Ablett did not even get nominated , let alone get votes.

No doubt some media come across as being ignorant on Northern players , but Id say a lot of the time they are just ignorant to the new and the young if they are not "names". The amount of times I here a commentator say .. Club X.. "have found one"... as if they lifted a boulder and found a gem. A lot of the media would not really know u18 kids until they start to play AFL , and likewize if they play in a winning side they got more rated than if they are in a struggling side. Without a doubt.. guys like Lynch will get plenty of media raps once your side starts beating other sides regularly.

Just out of curiosity thurls do you have a high membership or do you have friends on the inside of the club allowing you to go into the rooms after matches ect... (yes I know anyone can buy a ticket to the bf)
ajsars, both have been a Lounge Member since 2011 and have friends that are part of the coaching staff and playing group

Fingers crossed Dave gets back to his best. Funnily enough, with him, Rischa and Gaz fully fit and back on field, the improvement left in players like Touk, Sexy, Jesse and Jack, the upcoming ND, and the likely acquisition of a couple of mature mids to fill best 22 positions, our midfield is looking stronger (or at least deeper) than it did back in mid-2014.
Gaz, Spitta, Touk, Rischa, Martin, Sexton, Lonergan, Hall, Fiorini, Rosa, Hallahan, Cal Ah Chee to step up, Bowes / Scheer / McGrath? + Lyons / Jong? the depth is looking a lot better than 2016 :)
