Super Coach League Design

The Super Coach leagues are being formed as we speak. The design of the league was a hard decision; it was important to reward loyal BigFooty members, while at the same time allowing new members to join people of a similar quality.

It was then decided that a sliding league system will be used, based purely on last years rank. (This in itself is a potentially flawed system, which may be reduce when we have two years worth of solid data)

We divided the list into two separate groups, Team A (existing members) and Team B (new members).

Division 1 is comprised of the following players:

14 * Team A
2 * Top ranked Team A or Team B

Division 2 is comprised of the following players:

13 * Team A
3 * Team A or B

..........

We continued this process until the leagues are purely based on the best ranked members.

Is it the best solution? Maybe not.

As the leagues progress, it may become time critical, so we may open the leagues up to ~20 potential members and the first 16 to post their interest will be rewarded with entry to that division.

If you want to join a league, please show some patience, if you have posted your interest in the threads on the main board, you will be in a league.

Tarquin i dont really understand the sytem, i put my name down a while ago in the new members thread and dont know where to go from here, im seeing leagues being created but not sure as to what league iim supposed to be in..

Don't worry, we have you down on the list- as we do everyone who has posted in the New & Existing Members threads.
You should receive an invite in the coming week or so.

The leagues won't be fully completed until just before the season starts.

Basically Frrost11, the best ranked teams are being placed first and as each division fills we open up another division inviting people to enter. We have given existing BigFooty league members a greater chance of entering a higher league, while filtering in new members. As the leagues get higher, there will be a lot more new members.

Currently in Division 3 - Existing members are ranked in 2009 at 1900 and new members are at 347. This should give people a rough idea when they should be placed in a league. We have also given more consideration for members that could post their results.

The process will also potentially reward active BF users as I am also opening up divisions for the next highest rank if people take longer than 48 hours to join. This is because we're going to be time poor in weeks to come.

Cheers for that axewell/tarquin, you guys are doin a good job with it all....hope everyone is doin there part by getting into leagues asap!
