He is 0-2 and Hodge & McVeigh are both out for a few more weeks yet & I would think any combination of the 3 mids I would be offering would be better propects than half his currrent midfield.

How are those mids worse than Swallow, Kelly, Picken? Bar Langford. He probs wants elite mids, not more spuds.

Sorry, I got the bit on the waiver list wrong though in regards to it's order - it is set on 'reverse ladder' order which was the recommended one.

The lowest ranked team at the end of the round gets the first priority - and I assume from there it works it way up to eventually the highest rank.

So this will then be reset as we start into & complete rd3.

Free agents are a first in best dressed scenario.

Reverse ladder is worse imo as it means the waiver wire order is reset every week. If you do poorly in the first few weeks (may well be due to an anomaly as opposed to genuinely having the worst team) you get first bite at the cherry every time. The first few weeks are when the most important waivers take place and it therefore skews things unnecessarily.

Reverse draft order means that the waiver wire rolls throughout the season, making the decision to use a waiver more important. it also spreads the love so to speak, enabling everyone to have a crack at the good free agents.
 
Sterling, the name for what you are proposing is 'trade rape'. If a trade isn't reasonably fair then you are undermining your league.
How are everyone's teams going?
Personally I brought in billings and mcglynn this week. Fwd line is a mess, Barlow :-(
 
can someone please give me a decent explanation as to why captains are bad in a draft format? I argued heavily for no captains pre draft order, recieved pick 14 (Montagna) and now have lost the first two rounds due to captains (Ablett and Fyfe). Is it common knowledge that captains shouldn't be used in this format?
 
10 man league, I argued for no captains but was overruled by the majority.
Depends on league size.
Picking after pick5 (goldy, Fyfe, Ablett, Pendles, danger) is a big disadvantage with captains on. All leagues I am I. Use captains

Yes, it's common knowledge.
Captains give significantly more weight to the first 5 picks and make it pretty impossible for others to compete.
They also make midfielders significantly more important than they otherwise would be.
Players like Fyfe, GAJ and Danger are set and forget captains and most weeks are reliable for 120+.
I think it takes a lot of fun out of it.

Not much left in our FA list - otherwise known as the cess pit. I might throw on the scuba gear tonight and go for a swim. Looking at Honeychurch (Dogs), Acres (Saints) or Young (Port) as a mid (or Honeychurch as a FWD and move one of my FWDs to mid.

Thoughts?
 
Wish my league didn't have the captains nonsense. Lost by like 40 points last week and my opponent had Goldstein captain :drunk:
