Hey all think this could be a useful resource for us all, assuming we're probably no doubt up to speed with whats happening at out own club, if you could post the three best steals of this year at your club based on FF prices, pre season form and the role in the team they are expected to play. Given that the winner will be the one that picks the least injured big guns i see no harm in us dicussing and sharing the potential goddards, murphys and frasers of last year.

I've been to both tiger praccy matches and reckon it will be hard to past these three......

1)Foley- ball magnet fitness freak who will be our biggest ball winner this year.In limited game time last year averaged more possessions per minute then any other player, Wallace has talked up his best and fairest chances this year and is obviously ready to give him the game time he deserves. Dont be detterred by size!

2)Deledio- Impressive chunk of man ready to take the league by storm, Will be played in positions with so many scoring capabilities.

3)Browny- Looks to be back and will be too darn cheap for a bloke who was on his way to a brownlow pre leg break.

cheers and goodluck to all!!!

At Geelong the only guys worth considering are:

David Wojincski - Impressive preseason looks to have really improved. Came back middle of last year from ACL and was average. Worth a punt.

Mathew Stokes - Having great preseason after rapidly improving last year. Will play forward pocket and possibly in the midfeild rotation. Not really a SC lock yet but worth watching in NAB cup.

Brad Ottens - Massive preseason, dominating in practice matches, expensive but may turn it on thid year.

Nothing else worth considering at Geelong.

A few cash cows at the Hawks, but nothing much else that appeals other than the great man. :D

Mitch Brown :D

First year KPP in a premeirship side.......Even if he is killing it in the preseason he is still behind Glass, Lynch, Hansen, Staker, Graham and Hunter.

I can't see him getting a lot of game time compared to say Hansen who is probably a walk up start or Hawkins who is a good chance of playing early on.

wHAT ABOUT mACKIE?

Is expected to play more up the ground like the latter half of last year. At this stage I would say not really in contetion (sam with Tenace) but if he has a big NAB cup then maybe.

From the doggies:

Griffen- A must in every serious team.
Higgins- Will star this season and has a great chance at the Rising Star.

Our other boys are obvious choices but these two guys are having a great pre season to date.

I think you are full of crap

I would suggest that Muston is a Must'ave

Franklin, Roughhead and Ladson are all worth considering

Agreed. Rate very little of what he says due to the fact that he tries to dupe other readers to gain advantages.

Look at the price of Luke Hodge on DT and SC. If that isnt a steal then I dont know what is.

In fairness I think he was refering to Hodge as the great man.

Is Ellis going to play? I would've thought he'd be a good pickup as a benchman for the defence.

Not sure on his price but Look Ball could be a decent pick-up. Depends how he goes in preseason and how he is managing the OP.

Ellis will play but a conservative guess would be between 6-10 games due to his slim frame.

Im tipping Buddy will go from averaging around 50 in DT to mid 60's maybe 70's. There are probably other players around his price that will get better scores this year.

Isnt Hodge not training due to OP?

Hodge is one of the few players who is worth 380+ and dropped away heavily during the end of the year. Even with OP at that price you would be crazy not to get him :)

Surely by 380+ you mean DT price. He would easily be up around the 500k mark for SC. I think you'd have to get him just because he uses the ball well and is effective. Will be an even bigger bonus if he's in backs like he has been the last couple of years.

I've been thinking about Buddy. 3rd year is a charm and he seems to be killing it in training and intra clubs. Might come down to Buddy/Clokey for a forward spot but I think they are both going to have great years.

What's everyones thoughts on Russell Robertson? He absoloutly killed it in '05, had a bit of a downer last year so is cheap, and is capable of massive scores. I have no idea how hes been travelling during the pre season though.
