Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

I've always thought this would be the way to go for our top. Incorporates a lot elements of the original South jumper, but it's still very much the Sydney design. It's also a much better shade of red, almost claret, and looks very much like blood.

Though looking at it again for the first time a long time, the V could be a little bit more shallow. Still, you get the idea.

Gave it a re-touch.

Not bad, but i reckon just wear the red V in Melbourne games and against the Suns

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

Im in support of going the deeper red. I'd much rather we were known as the bloods rather than the swans.

The wider v looks better, but I prefer all red at the top tbh, its just simpler.

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

Anybody know what numbers the new recruits will be wearing next year?

All I know is Tadhg gave Walsh his number 17.

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

Not a fan either of the 2012 edition but it's an improvement.

Need to take out the logo in the middle, then it'd look quite good.

The 2012 training top would look good without the logo and swan. Simple designs are often the best.

I don't know why, but I like the image of the swan for a training jumper. Never for our h&a look, though.

Big fan of the deeper red, too. However there's no way we should or would ever change our name from the Swans.

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

All white red numbers red v on front faux red collar.

Perfect

Never lived in Victoria always Qld started supporting VFL 1985 and they were wearing the red V and Capper, Stevie Wright and a few others would even wear the lace ups. Freaking best jumper in the league. Has to support Sydney because of the jumper.

I would be satisfied with even one marquee game every year where they wear the red V but would like to see it in all Vic games cos I'm greedy.

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

No every state uses a V and always have, even in State games or the NRL for that matter..they used V's, back in the days jumpers from most sports had either a V, a sash, horizontal or vertical stripes or logo's like carltons of different color combinations there was none of this fancy artwork we have today..
The red V is a part of our clubs history. Nothing to do with V for Victoria.

As I said, it represents Victoria more than the bridge or opera house... Nothing to do with Victoria somehow owning the V as a bloody trademark or something! And as a Victorian I'm forever giving these crows I happen to live with "the big V"... I personally associate the V design predominately with Victoria (yes yes, I know, we all know it isn't "Victoria's" though). Just relax, noone is trying to steal any V's away from anyone mate.

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

My best combo is a short red V white shorts and all red socks. I like the mostly white look it looks like a blood stained angel and also shows of the solarium tan.

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

Tom Mitchell should've got 31.
He had a choice of jumpers, being the first draft pick (I'm not sure whether traded-in players get precedence or not?).

Re: Swans 2012 Guernseys.

Almost as good as the Swans quilt cover :D
