Swans V Crows

Well I reckon we need a thread to start a bit of a discussion on this game between 2 sides coming off wins against last years' grand finalists.

How does everyone see the matchups?
- Rutten v BBBH, Bassett v O'Loughlin, McGregor v Goodes, Torney v Davis
- Perrie v LRT, Hentschel v Leapin' Leo, Welsh v C Bolton

Haven't though about the midfield battle, but I expect Crouch will be following Macca everywhere & probably Kirk v Roo leaving Goodwin, Reilly, Mattner, Edward, Thompson & Co v Williams, Maxfield, J Bolton, Spriggs & Co.

O'loughlin probably wont be fit unfortunately. I dont know if crouch has fully recovered to take on macleod. Macleod played heaps well last week too and i think he will be the danger man.

Schauble a chance to start?

I think we'll beat the crows by 4-5 goals none-the-less. We've only lost 4 of the last 21 games at the SCG for memory.

Those matchups look about right.

O'Loughlin, McVeigh and Fosdike are our in's at this stage, but no outs - I expect Bevan to make way for O'Loughlin.

Should be an interesting game, the Crows always put a good fight against us and never give up until the final siren.

The last two games we played against the Crows
R15 2004, SCG Sydney 8.10.58 d Adelaide 6.9.45
R18 2003, AAMI Stadium Adelaide 14.13.97 d Sydney Sydney 14.9.93

Both of these have been close and the three previous games before these two have all been competitive games, not absolute floggings in anyone's terms.

Yep if there is a similer scoreline to that we really going to be copping a bagging around the country.......

But there is nothing more exciting than chasing four points.

I'm just wondering who Adelaide fans think is a good matchup for Ryan O'Keefe? He's been down on form so far this season, and been playing more upfield. Can still take a good mark and kick a goal. Mattner?

Yeah, I'll take Mattner as a match up for O'Keefe.

Mattner has had a good start to the season and is making a name for himself on the wing in an Adelaide side which features quite a few top draw players ala Ricciuto and McLeod.

Hard to say as I don't know where O'Keefe will be playing. If he plays primarily as a HFF, then Doughty will be a good chance to take him as he has lined up on the mid sized forwards this season. Especially with Hart out, it looks as though he will get the job again on the HBF.

If O'Keefe plays further up the ground, probably Mattner who has been in top form for us this season.

Should be a good game !

I think you have got the possibilities for O'Keefe about right - the other potential matchup could be Brent Reilly. At least we have some lesser type players in decent form for once.

Do you think Spriggs needs some more time to find form in the AFLC ?

He obviously is still getting used to playing football again, as he been injured on and off for quite a few years. I think thats why Geelong got rid of him because apart from his debut year, the rest were ruined by injury.

Yeah he's been injured alot, but he should be in the seniors. He can do it all by hand I don't mind, but keep him there.

On a better note, how wicked does my avatar look!
