Nope!
I've been told on here that I'm too generous with my Swans positivity about club & players & perhaps rightly so.
So now I am saying that for a team that has an out dated slingshot gameplan that hasn't changed for a few years & with a team that consists of Towers, Sinclair, Naismith, McVeigh & Lloyd, I'm not expecting to win tonight or come close & that in turn puts me in the right frame of mind to not freak out when tonight, I see McVeigh pointing, Towers stuff up time & again, Lloyd run in circles achieving nothing, Naismith running out of puff in the first Q or getting broken up at the first ruck contest or Sinclair dropping marks & going down holding his knee.

Anything that happens better than the above will then be most enjoyable & watching AA make acceptable mistakes because he is learning his craft will be watched by me with total control.
I won't yell at the TV & I will leave swansrule100 to comment as he pleases on the game day thread as it is his own way of supporting the club he loves so much.
I now respect that. May we all enjoy the game in own own special manner.

Now I am not taking the p.ss here folks I am serious. Just sit back & chill out expecting the loss coming our way.

Should we some how win because Geelong are the most over rated team in the competition alongside North the I will resume my usual manner on here where I only see eveything with rose coloured glasses!

Cheerio the!

Ha Ha !!! And your still doing it all be it in your best spin doctor round about sort of way but good for you. Everybody takes disappointment differently when it comes to the team they love but it does not mean they love them any less than the chilled out no sweat brother type of supporter. About time everybody respected that on here because regardless of things typed on a stupid computer we are all Red and White to the Core and Bloods till we die.

actually I've kind of felt this way all season. my level of posting has been way down this year in part because I'm just not as fussed. my outlook for the team and the season is just to see improvement from the 12-28 players and hope that we can show that we are competitive against the best teams. 2014 still feels like it was our best chance and may well be our only real chance to win a flag with buddy and unless we get buddy some help in scoring i just can't see us troubling the really good teams in 2016. I think gws are as likely as any to win the flag.

Tonight my main area of interest is watching our centre clearance work. it has been a weakness for probably 20 years no matter whether we had kelly cresswell, schwass, ablett, kirk, crouch, bolton, rok, jack, parker or kennedy. we are against the premier centre clearance team and i can see us - as we have against the tigers and the doggies - getting well beaten in the midfield. and if that occurs we will get spanked. so lets see whether there is an improvement there

I think we all need to relax a little. Yes it would make the top two/top four extremely difficult and we do seem to be falling back into our 2015 mode (which often felt like being pierced in the eyeball to watch). But is there any shame in being a transitioning team and falling short in a year that's probably the highest quality top eight I can recall? Isn't the fact that we are showing a whole lot of upside to the future while others (such as lolnorf and Hawthorn) can only go down?

This year is just the beginning folks. I'd say it's gonna be our launch pad to be contending for flags with the Bulldogs, Geelong and GWS in a few years. Hawthorn can literally only win when that core group (Mitchell, Lewis, Burgoyne, Gibson etc) stand up. They aren't going to be used to them going missing and losing games. Because our youngsters are being forced to stand up and earn their spot in the side, and are being forced to fill key roles, it'll only make them better. Hawthorn has a young depend on the old or die way. We have a young depend on the old, old depend on the young way, and we'll be better for it.

For the record, I think we'll lose tonight. But I have a feeling our young guns (Aliir, Georgie, Paps, Mills and Jones) are going to stand the hell up and show the older guys a thing or two.

For the record again, I don't think our game plan is out-dated. We've seen this Swans side this year take the game on better than any since 2012. The issue is that when the pressures on, or we're restricted from playing like that, we revert too easily back to 2015. The quest for Horse is to not devise a plan that will change our style too dramatically, but to get this side to cope better with pressure and have confidence in the way they play. Silly handballs to nobody, rushed long bombs and chaos balls shows a distinct lack of confidence from the boys that their plan won't hold up under pressure. That is what we need to work on. No better way to gain confidence and be outside your comfort zone than by facing Geelong in Geelong. Let's go boys!

Most of us also thought we wouldn't be 10 & 4 after 14 games. So let's all watch the game expecting to lose, but hopefully enjoying the emergence of our next generation. Who knows what can happen. Buddy hasn't played at this ground since under 18s.
My god, how does one know a stat like that???

Are you a... (gasp) a footy nerd?

Goosebumps watching that clip of the KFC king winning us that game

I am so nervous lol. Haven't felt like this all year. Don't know if it is a bad or good thing.

Don't be nervous. I have faith that if we can really rattle Geelong at home, and have the kids stand up and our mids at least match them in the centre, that we'd be in good stead come September. Especially with Tippett to return.

Early days of 2016 kids stood up. Need them to do it again with no bombs I50

Almost everyone was. Parker and Jack had stellar starts, Grundy, Sir Dane of House Rampe & co were impenetrable, Tippett was killing it with good support from Sinclair, Buddy was on fire with good support from Heeney and Paps. The only ones that were quietish were Hanners and JPK. Seems the situation has reversed over the last month!
