Seems pretty extreme. From one major city to a turbo charged one. Or is there something specific about Perth annoying you?
Lots of reasons..

My son is thinking of moving in a years time to start uni.

I have a lot of bad memories here and would like a fresh start.

I need to get out of a rut.

I have no family here . My Mum has mental health issues and I would like a break. My dad lives in the country. My sister in Melbourne. Don’t see extended family.

Had a couple of long term friendships finish.

Feel very lonely really.

Would like to meet a partner one day.

I would miss my job and my church , other than that I wouldn’t miss anything.

Thinking of Sydney specifically?

It's a pretty fast place by Australian standards, expensive and traffic sucks

Lots of jobs though, just can't live near work

What do you mean? Where do you live?

Perth and that should of been Have

What’s made you think of going to Sydney (ignore that, read your other post)

Perth gal imo you should or to Wollongong first and gauge from there he much closer to Sydney you want to live, like wetting your toes.

Wollongong is a beautiful place, and slow paced, little traffic, but not a lot of jobs.

There are a number of wonderful townships around Wollongong. Like Bulli way along the coast, beaches. Or a little inland, very country. It's basically mountains and country inland and beautiful beaches on the coast. All very close to each other.

Get used to traffic, congested public transport and people shoving their phones in their faces.

It's nice in that you've got lots to do though. In terms of places to go, sights to see, things to do on the weekend.

Come to the coast Perth gal

I did the same move. And we used to live 3 streets away in perth but didnt know.
Pm me

Edit: i would never move to a bigger city again. I like being an hour by car to brisbane and an hour by air to Sydney.
The southern gold coast northern nsw is the best place to live. Really live. Not just exist.

Or a regional area close by.
You're a nurse, yeah? Check out Wollongong or Newcastle. Good lifestyles, relatively cheap to live in, and striking distance to Sydney if you've got family there.

The barrier for most people is finding work, but with tertiary referral hospitals in both cities I doubt you will have much trouble.

Good luck.

I would suggest you find your passion everything else will fall into place. You'll find your partner where your passion is.

The urban sprawl of Sydney is just as bad as Perth, and if you want to live anywhere close to the CBD (within 15kms) you'll have to give up your right arm to live there (unless you're financially well off).
