G'day guys,

Hoping someone on here might be able to help me out.
I'm off for a trip to Sydney next week with a couple of mates. Thing is, we are going for a 24hr trip as we got $2 flights each way with Tiger ($12 return for 3x persons!).
Anyway, we fly in at about 4pm one day and out at 2pm the next. What is our best option as far as public transport goes. We only really want to get to the airport and back and use the train around Sydney CBD and maybe out to Bondi beach.
Is there one single ticket we can get that will cover us for this at a decent price? I believe there is a TravelPass ticket but that covers for 7 days where as we only want for 2....

Anyone who knows, replies would be very much appreciated.:D

Thanks!

It's cheaper for 3 people to share a cab from the airport into the city than catch the ridiculously overpriced airport train. A cab into the city will cost you $10 each tops.

Check here for train prices:

You need to get the blue line from city to Bondi Junction and then a connecting bus to Bondi beach.

Has a trip planner. Will give you all forms of transport too, not just the trains. Bus/Train/Ferry.

Works really well.

I'm with burner - sharing a taxi would be cheaper. The airport train is the biggest rort around - going between one or two stations can cost you $12 one way! If you have multiple people, the taxi would be cheaper.

Once you get on the train from the airport, if does the 'city circle'. You can get buses to Bondi from Central.

But yes, the system is rubbish - we don't have "day passes" like Melbourne does. In simple words, our system doesn't make it easy or cheap to use it.

Thanks for the info guys.:thumbsu:
Sounds like a cab to the city might be our best option in that case. And then bus it around city/bondi from there....
Have had a quick look at the trip planner website and that and it sounds a very complicated ticketing/pricing system in Sydney...In melbourne we only have two zones & you can get a daily concession pass to go train/bus/tram anywhere in both zones for $5.30. Clearly Sydney doesn't have anything similar....we do have Myki trying to come in though- most usless thing ever!

And Nardz, I take your point but the less we waste on public transport the more we can spend on drinks/going out/having fun:rolleyes:
