Hello folks, I live in Canada and am a Suns fan but, I wanted to make a comment here. I was watching some of the Major League Baseball coverage from the SCG over the last couple of days and they showed a lot of shots of the city. I have to say Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Just amazing, we have nothing in Canada that touches the beauty of your city.

You are very lucky to live in such an awesome place.

Thanks.

But then again, coming from Edmonton, you would say that.

Why would you barrack for the Suns? We wear red and white Canada's colours AND have Canada's favourite son himself big Mike Pyke , it seems odd that's all for a Canadian to follow a random sport like AFL and pick the Suns as your team.

I just started following the AFL last season (an Australian co-worker got me check it out and I liked what I saw) and, as a new fan I didn't want to barrack for the reigning premiers - I like underdogs. I also wanted a team with a logo and colors I liked - the Suns have that. Also, being a recent expansion team means I haven't missed any of my club's great moments from years gone by.

It's cool that Mike Pyke made it in the AFL - there aren't that many of us in Canada who follow the sport.

I was lucky to be in Vancouver for a few days in December and, if not for the rain, that looked like a city of comparable beauty to me. Was just a great city to explore.

Have you any plans to visit Australia to see the game live, Ogopogo?

I have spent a fair amount of time in Vancouver in my lifetime and I would respectfully disagree. It rains 161 days per year in Vancouver on average and the photos I have seen of Sydney's beaches and inner habour are far nicer, IMO. The peak of summer is about 20-22 degrees and the winter is overcast and rainy with occasional periods of snow and temps dipping below 0. Parts of downtown are not very nice and overrun with drug activity. Based on my experience, I prefer what I have seen of Sydney.

I would love to come to Australia for a game - and there is a possibility through work that I could come there on business later this season. Of course, getting to a game will be as big a priority as my work. ;-)

He wont say this when he has to drive somewhere in Sydney

I disagree mate Im stuck out at Hornsby cannot wait to get some wheels back. public transport is horrid especially at night, the things I've seen. (particularly the things I've seen wearing south jumpers, when did bulldogs fans become less scummy then the Rabbitohs?)
