I am not interested in their list. I reckon our team is good enogh to play finals based on the way we've played against teams like Brisbane, Adelaide, Carlton, Port and Hawthorn.

However, since the break we've been lethargic and almost looked tired. If that's how we'll go for the rest of the year, we'll be lucky to not finish 14th. But if we can bounce back (like I expect us to) this week and get back to the footy we've played just before the break, given our fixture, I reckon we're a decent chance of finishng above Sydney.

And the fact they've beaten us with that shit brand of footy won't worry me in a slightest.

EH, the comment about the list was made in the context of the thread.

I agree, if we can reproduce some of that early season form and do it consistently then sure we can play finals footy. Its the consistency that worries me and not having LA / JZ and Dish doesnt help.

Lets hope they turn it around starting this week.:thumbsu:

That's a fairly bold and harsh comment, seeing as that brand of footy beat you both times you're more so hitting on your teams skill and now so talking as if you don't deserve to be in the finals.

The way you guys play footy is like the way Conchita Martinez played tennis, its not pretty, but it gets the job done.

Bold and harsh, but it's the truth.
That was one of the worst games of footy I've seen all year, and I reckon Sydney was instrumental in making it that.

Of course it's our own fault that we can't get around it, but other teams will, and have done over the last two months.

But the fact that we can't deal with this shit brand of footy at this stage of our development, isn't reason enough to give up on the finals dream, which would be important for the kids to experience.

The Sh!t brand of footy that you speak of got us into two grand finals, but now that the pace of the game has changed, that brand isn't as effective as it used to be :(

Thats a true supporter! And thats how you all should be thinking...
Plus, do you deserve the Finals over a team who beat you?

That's stupid, you lost to west coast in a qualifying final in 05 but still won the flag, do you feel bad for that? Finals and success is determined on your performances over an entire year not one game, so yes if we win more games over a 22 game season then we thoroughly and unquestionably deserve a place.

That's what I said in 96. Forfeit, we have no right to play them in the GF after being beaten by them a few weeks ago.

Mind you, if that rule meant we were in and Hawthorn and Carlton were out, I could live with it. No need for smiley face thingy.

Our opposition for finals in this strange old season is every team from Freo down to Melbourne. Let's just see how many we can win.

No because we came even in the pre season one a peice, we then made it to the Grand Final. Whole different kettle of fish.

I've just done the ladder predictor on http://www.afl.com.au/bailey ladder predictor/tabid/13046/default.aspx and I have us finishing a game ahead of Sydney in 8th spot even now. But given I haven't been able to tip more than 6 games right a week all year, my speculation is probably as useful as a chocolate teapot. Lose to Richmond this week (we have been installed underdogs) and it's all over.

I any event though I have us 8th with a trip to Subi to play Freo where we'll get utterly shellacked as we always do in a) Perth trips and b) finals and having everyone in football, ourselves included, wishing we'd never made it at all.

Seriously, after yesterday's performance, if we made the 8 we'd rival Essendon from last year as the worst side to play finals ever.

Yes, slight underdogs against a younger team who is playing inspiring footy. Sorry, but your finals aspirations will be a distant memory on Sunday afternoon. At least you don't have to worry about the remainder of the season!

Geez I love the cockiness of some of the Tigers' posters. You'd think they were coming off a three-peat of flags. Last time I checked the ladder they were, despite excellent form of late which I've enjoyed watching myself, second last!
