Alright, so with the big money that has gone into the Indian Premier League, the players that go from T20 league to T20 league to earn a buck, and the lack of representation of International players in the Big Bash resulting in us questioning the viability of the league. I'm proposed running a mock draft league of T20 players.
So we would start with a draft of players from all over the world, following by a simmed round robin and finals to see who can come up with the best T20 team.
There would be no restrictions on international selections, it's just a free for all on everyone on the list. just make sure you pick a keeper and at least two players that can bowl.
So I have taken all the players that have competed in a each of the major T20 Leagues from all over the world from the past 12 months, plus one from 2020 because there was not 2021 edition. The 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League, 2021-22 Big Bash League, 2022 Bangladesh Premier League, 2021 T20 Blast, 2021 Indian Premier League, 2021-22 Super Smash, 2022 Pakistan Super League, 2022 CSA T20 Challenge, 2021 Lanka Premier League, and the 2021 Caribbean Premier League.
This means Steve Smith with feature in this draft, but Mitchell Starc will not has he has not played domestic T20 cricket in the past year.
Each player has been given an average rating according to their stats from the above leagues, giving greater precedence to the players home league. And from that each player has been given a base price and been placed into a set with like players. I have also taken into account whether each player has played a T20I game in 2021.
The player list is still in the works, as the CSA T20 Challenge and the PSL are set to wrap up this week. But the majority of it is done as the the other leagues have concluded.
As for the main part of this, the draft portion I have I few options.
1. A snake draft of players
2. Individually auctioning off players in this thread (least likely)
3. Individually auctioning off players over a voice chat (the most fun option)
4. Opening up a group of players at a time for a 24hr period, set by set, and people bidding for them in the thread (most likely option)
And as for the simmed portion of the league, hopefully just a single round robin (so it doesn't take two months to play, goddamit BBL) and then a finals.
This is open for everyone to participate.
