Just finished a Dees V Cats game on pro with 10 min quarters.
The tackle count was 161 to 154. Way out of balance.
The problem is the amount of tackles that "stick"
I'm suggesting a player attribute be assigned (on a percentage basis) that determines how often a tackle will stick to that player.
E.G : Ablett 39% tackle stick
Judd 38%
Bate 77%
This would mean that when ever a tackle is applied to a player it would have a chance of being broken relative to the players % attribute.
Get rid of the "Shrug" function in favour of a handball target option and allow for the slightly un-predictable tackle slipping at stoppages that AFL actually has in real life.
This would surely free the game up a little more whilst still maintaining a contested footy feel.
At the moment the tackling is just way too overpowered and it's more like a rugby game than anything else.
I think it's a good first effort by Big Ant but the tackling is a real game-breaker for mine.
I do really wonder why this wasn't picked up in the testing stage.
