The bit that will nail people during finals is that the number of options whittles down quickly, and you can't choose the same teams over a rolling period, which during the finals series makes it a very low chance of getting through in one piece. I'd allow people to choose the top favourite, and if they have no choice available they are out


An example of the scenario -

Games -
Week 1 - Freo vs Sydney, WCE vs Hawks, Richmond vs Adelaide, WB vs North
Week 2 - Sydney vs Richmond, Freo vs North
Week 3 - WCE vs Freo, Hawks vs Sydney
Week 4 - Freo vs Hawks

Picks -
Week 1 - choose Freo
Week 2 - choose Sydney (can't choose Freo)
Week 3 - choose Hawks (can't choose Freo or Sydney)
Week 4 - neither option available, knocked out of the comp



If you start the comp from this week - then the choices heading into finals impact on who you can choose which makes it very very interesting. Do you choose a top 8 team now and limit choosing them in finals, or do you choose a bottom team and risk being knocked out?

The comp will sort itself out very quickly.
