We all know that Richard Tambling has done nothing for the Richmond FC and that he has the potential to be a great player so why do we not take that opportunity? Maybe he just needs to start a fresh? Any Thoughts?
 
I'd take him, but I don't think it's an argument worth having because I can't see Richmond trading him.

IMO we are no better than Richmond at developing youngsters. Sure we have more on our list but only time will tell how good we are at extracting their ability. If Richmond can't get Tambling to be a good player why would we? Also it wouldn't be worth the bs of coming up with a trade for him.
 
Only if it means we get a go at the whole dreamtime experience.
With 6 aboriginal boys already, Tambling would make seven.

In all seriousness, it will never happen, not in a million years but hey, for agruements sake....
Richmond won't trade him.

If they do then we won't want him.

But if we do then well....
I'd take him yet only for maybe a third rounder at the most, nothing more. Purely and simply to see if the whole change of enviroment thing would work but he could still be a fringe player. He may play well for us as i feel that we have extremely good leadership down at the club in terms of indigenous players. Whelan (although he may not be there next year) helps them out a lot as does Davey.
 
Yes i agree, just thought that maybe Melbourne could bring out the wrap that he got at the draft.
 
I would take him and give them Newton and a 3rd round pick. Maybe needs a change?

Newton isn't worth much but I wouldn't give them two things!

Tambling isn't worth anything beside pick 70+, for a third rounder you can get some serious talent. Were not ready to be taking on other players anyway, Tambling would be a better fit for a club like the saints, they could do what they have done to Farren Ray.
 
We'd have to get him for virtually nothing. Which won't happen. I'd rather not take the risk, has shown nothing to back up the hype.
 
Serious talent like Benny :D. I totally agree, stupid thread really.
 
Why we are at it why dont we ring East Ringwood and see if Aaron Fiora is available. Also maybe we can aquire Jason Laycock from Essendon in a strait trade for our state of the art Beta player that we use for video analysis.

The respective draft order of the players has no currency so no 3rd pick. The Tigers already have a number of larger ordinary forwards so doubt they'd be interested. One whipping boy for another for the purpose of the exercise, I don't think so.
