Is this a major factor missing in our games? Crowley, Dawson, even Balla seem to lift themselves, the team by pushing
the boundries of fair play.
Hawks made a concerted effort to target Fyfe at all times, even Kevin Sheedy always ensured there was one enforcer
in his team. Could controlled aggression help with our form loss?

Those are the kind of options I think we might keep in our pockets until grand final time. ;)

It's not something that's natural to us at the moment and it's really something of a mindset that needs to be a across a team for it to be effective. The Hawks are best at doing with aplomb. If we get Dawson and SCNOS back, then we get a couple of hell dogs back, and they may instil more of it back in the side.

Who else on the list has white line fever? Grey seems to have this in spades, I would like to see Ross add some mongrel to the team, and believe
that Fyfe will need the protection, if we are to see the best of him.
There seems to be a nice guy image to the team at the moment, which I find stunning, due to Ross's nickname.
I don't know if the MRP have muzzled Balla, or he has changed his style, tackling, but he always lifts when he is a pest.
Would love our team to turn the tables and start targeting oppositions best player.

I remember saying before the 2013 GF that Ross may let him off the leash, but obviously had either stage fright or was too hyped up (i.e. legs moving faster than his brain). I'm sure RTB would allow it again if we get another chance...

This is one of the reason why most players now relish to play against us. Mitchell had a field day on Sunday without Crowls. Hope it makes the coaches think that perhaps Clancee or de Boer is better off as a tag-with role. 2013/2014 we nullified most of the midfielders and helped Mundy and Fyfe along. Hell even my buddy Suban should get a go at the tagging role, he has the tank for it as well as the hardness.

B but but we need to attack more. Cant play that negative footy that got us to a Granny.
Tbh we can do both.. It's not like all our mids are going to get 30+ possesions. Neale, Mundy and Fyfe can with Suban/D. Pearce and Hill chipping in. De Boer and Suban hardly get the ball and damage the scoreboard so better to use that to the team's advantage.

If we play the Hawks in the GF every player should try cork their opponent with their knee first chance they get.

33k is a small price to pay for a premiership.
Or you can play Crowley and get him to take out Hodge or Mitchell ala Karate Kid.

Ross the master of deflection!

But nice he called out hawks on dirty tactics, which has been on going for years.

1. Come back from 1 year ban for grand final
2. KO two or more opposition players
3. Win flag
4. Receive 10 week suspension
5. Retire
6. $$$$

If other teams tried to tap it to the same guy in every single ruck contest I am sure we would do the same thing.

I can't agree with this. His last 3 or 4 years has been very, very good and his toughness can't be questioned now. Under Harvey / Connolly though.............
I don't think he's ever asserted himself the way Hawthorn mids do. For the role he plays he's having a very poor year, and coasting off the back of super human efforts by Fyfe.

This is why at his age, should be playing half back, with limited time in the middle. goes missing at
the start of games when the heat is on, always lifts in the second half.
Adding another Hard inside/outside midfielder would make a huge difference to our combinations.
For all the talk of our elite mids, only Fyfe, Neale, will be talked about for AA selection. Then you have
D Pearce who started the year okay when we are winning, but doesn't lift when the team is confronted.
