Fremantle’s forward line structure will be pivotal to its success this year, and spearheading the attack is skipper Matthew Pavlich. Tarrant says the Pav is the best forward he’s ever played with and the Victorian public have severely underrated him as a player.

“I didn’t realise how much of a freak he was till I actually played with him. He’s a sensational player, a super player – I think people in Victoria don’t realise how good he is, and I probably didn’t either until I started playing with him. He’s the best forward I’ve played with by a mile – I’m learning things off him every week”

No suprises really but I enjoyed reading it :)

Great to see.

If some of Pavlich's finishing skills rub off on Tarrant, and some of Tarrant's pressure skills and aggression at the contest rub off on Pavlich, we will have two absolutely uberhuman footballing freaks with which to torment the opposition!:thumbsu:

Hhhmmm......Matris Tarlich and Chrithew Pavrant!:) Got a nice ring to it!

Lol , They look like twins on the TV, until they shoot on goal.

Rivaling the Headster Bros.

Hahaha!

Duke Webland and Les Headster have caused the comentators a few headaches in their time.

I got a feeling our two young, peroxide using, indigenous talents, Calton Colish and Clayteb Mourlard (cringe) will cause similar problems.

True

Even I have trouble differentiating between Ludam McPharbell and Aduke Camplin at times. :)

Sorry, I will stop now. ;)

Please do. It was good while it lasted.... ;)

Nah, on second thoughts, I've often confused Aaron Sandilands and Peter Bell when they're on the opposite side of the ground from me...

Must admit I have the same problem IP. Peron Bendilands and Aarter Sall are nearly as confusing as Duke and Les. ;)

I reckon from certain angles of the ground Josh Carr and Matthew Carr look like they could be brothers.

Oh and re: Tarrant on Pavlich. I wouldn't play him there because

a) Tarrant's a forward; and
b) They're both our players.

Or is Drum our coach again?

or was that Tarrant on Pavlich.... as in...

There were rumours that Collingwood had been carrying Tarrant all these years.....who else better to continue the tradition than the guy with the massive engine ;)

Someone to help Sandilands in the goal square I guess =)

Tarrant on Pavlich...there will be more than a few dissapointed girls around town. If the great men adopted a boy would he be eligible for us under the father-son rule?

haha gold.

In all seriousness though, how does the father-son rule apply in adoption cases? Anyone have an idea?

Well if you're "legally" someone's child, then I guess it works the same as a biological child. Just that the kid won't have the genes so might not be able to play...

That's a good question. I'd guess it would be blood only or it would be too open to manipulation if anyone was willing to stoop that low. I can just imagine Eddie unveiling the Lexus Emirates Foster Family Centre or something.

But what if a young footballer unknowingly (or knowingly) fathers a kid who is put up for adoption and raised by Fred and Mary Bloggs from Dullsville. Kid begins to excel in primary school sports, becomes the high school footy star and before you know it, he's playing TAC u/18s or WAFL colts or the like, with drafting to the AFL a certainty. At some point he goes on a "find your biological parents" search and discovers that Dad was former AFL star Joe Brown, who played 250 games for (say) Essendon.

How does that work for the father/son rule????

I am expecting a knock at the door from the AFL's enforcers any minute. I think this is one of those questions that is never supposed to be asked. Much like why we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with a rabbit in a waistcoat who hides painted eggs...
