Two Blue said:Devonport coach Ned Perry must be about due to jump off the Devonport bridge with a bag of cement tied to his feet. Really feel for that bloke he is as paationate about his club and his players as anyone i have seen and backs them to the hilt.
He even defended them after they got smashed in a Grand Final again this year.
Maybe they need to get a sports phycologist in there to try and help them with there Grand Final jitters if they make it again

It is very difficult for clubs with strong lists such as Glenorchy, New Norfolk, and Clarence, is giving young players the chance to plat SENIOR football is very hard.Often these players move to a club where they can play seniors.footy_guru said:Yes ok, it is great to see them blooding some young depth, however history seems to see these young players often drift off to clarence, which is a crying shame.
And lets be honest about the state of the SFL... after watching Glenorchy Reserves put on such a professional display of football in the 06 grand final, it is clear that they would defeat bottom SFL senior sides and compete with the run of the mill teams, we need a balance... EG : Aaron Cornelious starting full forward at Brighton, Lauderdale, Hobart, and Kingston with the exclusion of Darcy...
its a frightening prospect, and AC is not alone as a walk in starter to senior footy at other clubs, what about a Brock Nightingale, Clinton French or a Nathan Matthews to name a few

GF appearances? I must feel like a gorilla for Ned now.....
Ozguy said:Interesting to note that Plappy put an application in for the Brighton coaching position nominating a figure higher than the salary cap. Surely it was a bit of piss taking, otherwise what hope is there when AFL Tas employees try to rort the cap.
Two Blue said:Ned and the boys are carrying King Kong on there back at the minute. It is extremly hard for any club anywhere to get three sides into a granny let alone twice in a row plus the seniors three in a row.
Hopefully the boys will stick together and win one. It would be a massive relief for them and a massive party.

footy55 said:Few no namers in that team mm1999 ... Good to see Cormac Collins take up the real brand of footy (Cormac is from Ireland and has played at a senior level of Gaelic Football for several years) ... Looking forward to the game though i will be there.....![]()
judburyjets said:Surely young Colin Garland would not be silly enough to play in a social game a month before the draft.... Can't see the logic in that. Also, I find it ineteresting that J Crouch from Glenorchy has been named. Considering Jesse would be about 22 or 23 years old, i find it hard to believe that he attends EC...
mightymagpie1999 said:Yeah Cormac has just taken up the game of Aussie Rules so will be intresting to see how he goes. Ben Clarke has apparentley been training for this game for nearly 7 weeks now shows the dedication some of the boys have in that EC team which more than covers for the lack of talent. Will be good to see if a few people get along to watch the game. Just one name to keep a eye on Gary Hayes a youngster who gave up football for a few years is returning for his first game and is licking his lips at the prospect of possibly lining up on a few of the "Star" Players from GYC in the first game and has also been said that he will play on young superstar jack riewoldt in the second game against rosny college on the 11th of october
footy55 said:Yeah Gary Hayes is a thug and nothing but it!!!! I'd be very weary playing footballers like Jack and Colin in these sort of games because Gary Hayes is capable of wrecking someones football career and when it comes down to it a social game is not worth it!! My tip is Hayes sent off first quarter and arrested in the 3rd!!

You will find the team that wins Premier League Reserves would beat all regional league teams and 3-4 of the Premier League seniors. Classic example with Glenorchy this year and Clarence last year. Clarence 2's had Doyle, Toole, Skeggs (dropped for the GF, the other two played in this years senior flag) playing in their P'ship. Throw in Noel, Standen & a host of other very good players.
Where is Clinton French from up north? Polled well in the B&F, 5 best on's

judburyjets said:I am not doubting the quality of the 2's in the premier league, but i think they would be up against it playing against the top 2 or 3 from the regional. There are some very good players in the premier 2's, especially some of the young guys, but put them up against Curran, McLeod, Haw, Pears etc and I think they would be outclassed. There are quite a few proven premier league players in the regional league and it may not be as bad a standard as you may think....
mightymagpie1999 said:Anybody whos already missing football in tassie get along to North Hobart oval on Wednesday the 4th of October at around 2:30 and watch some good quality college footy between Guilford young college and Elizabeth college. Should be a good game with guilford fielding a very strong team but Elizabeth will be out as the underdogs and will be looking to cause an upset. So get along and enjoy a game of footy. In a special note VFL Umpire ben lehner will be making a shock return to football for his first game since under 14's could this add incentive for guilford? Time will only tell!

footy55 said:mm1999 i went to high school with kleeman and i think that he can deliver the goods at regional level but may not be ready for the style of football played in the premier league, especially at Glenorchy ... I think give him another year in the reserves at lindisfarne and see how he fairs at the end of 2007!! Has anyone heard the latest on no.2 ruckman Trent Duggan from the two blues aswell?? rumour has it he went in for a knee reconstruction earlier this week?? Maybe you could inform me on that Cleo??
