Quite scary, he's been in their best in every single occasion playing at CHF against grown men in a good league. This guys only just turned 17.
If he's in the best 2 or 3 for the club and only kicking 3 or 4 goals in the game you know he's taking a ton of marks or setting a lot of shit up.:thumbsu:
Made the U/18 All-Australian team with the likes of Palmer, Kruezer etc, lol I can't believe we're getting him for free. Can't wait to see what he does at the champs, his value will sky rocket I'd imagine.;)

If the AFL takes it away (which they will in the future), then it will happen, but since we have him signed up already they can't take him away from us.

Can you imagine Nicolas Natanui was from Sydney? We would have signed him up early on this year ready to be given to us free next year.

There is no way in the world that the AFL will give us some sort of Victorian or W.A scholarship system, it will only be NSW, rare quality in that bunch, if it's W.A or VIC you can get a good one easily.

AFC were on their game here though in scouting Walker that's for sure. One of only two NSW players to make the U/18 AA.
:thumbsu:

Just come from elimination final in broken hill and he kicked 6.6 at chf and they now play in the grand final next week.
Will be a good game and see how he goes !

Just come from thep

sweet, cheers texas!!

I updated it in that lil update thingy for him.

Was he BOG?
How tall is he now? Taller than Welsh, 188cm?
If you can liken his football style to anyone in the AFL who would you compare him to?

Yeah he's signed to us. We only have to use our very last pick in the AFL draft.

The reason the AFL brought this system out was to encourage the NSW teenagers to take part in AFL football instead of being like everyone else over there and pursuing NRL, BBall etc.

They introduced this because of the lack of NSW Football players over the years, Texas Ranger is ours to keep.

Scholarships are offered by clubs to NSW players over a 1-2-3 year period, some 15 year old 'Scott Reed' from NSW was taken from Collingwood last year.

Scott Reed is 17 now, but isn't eligible until the 2008 draft. He's also doing very well in the Sydney AFL against men, and was listed in the best for the Rams in the National Championships Div 2 final.

Our other two scholarship players, Nick Perry and Thomas Young, are 15 and made the bests on multiple occasions in the U15 National Champs. Perry routinely plays open age in the Sydney AFL, Young plays U18's.

Both our clubs look to have done well out of the scholarship system. :thumbsu:

cheers mate, I hope he hits 192 at least, no way he'll be able to hold CHF in the high 180's.

We've got plenty of CHF options!! Gill, Hentschel, Sellar...even Tippett with his pace could be an option. Having a smaller bloke in there to get the job done will be very handy. Just out of interest...I wonder if he has any sort of crumbing nous?

True that

I bet he does, there were like 3 or 4 games there where he had kicked 3 goals or 4 goals, and had been named in the best or 2nd best, he's doing something good :thumbsu:. Plus he would be pretty agile so I reckon he would have good crumbing nous and bring his other team-mates into play.

There's some really ominous signs with Texas Walker, really ominous.

Considering his age and the fact that he's playing against full-grown men, and the fact that he's putting tons of goals through essentially every week without fail, I have to agree the signs look somewhat ominous. The real test will come when, and not if (I mean lets face it he's a certainty to be picked up by us), he is moved into the SANFL next year. And lets not forget when all is said and done, we don't really know a great deal about him as a player, we just know he's constantly kicking bags of goals and is about 188cm tall. Can't wait to get a good look at his game next year. :)
