i love taz just as much as anyone else but i am getting very frustrated in his play.when is he going to dominate and actually hurt the opposition on the scoreboard.1 goal in 2 weeks isnt enough.i know he leads up the ground and takes alot of marks but it doesnt hurt the opposition. i think he leads the comp in goal assists so that cuts him a bit of slack.

Always been a fan and I reckon he's great. But he just does not do enough, consitently enough. If a suitable trade came up where we picked up a quality ruckman, key defender or midfielder, I'd seriously look at it.

He isnt a bloody full forward. He is never going to hurt the opposition when he gets all of his kicks at HFF. Leading the comp goal assists is evidence of this. Rocca is our FF.

hall, brown, reiwoldt, robertson, pavlich brad johnson dont actually play ff either but they consistently kick bags of goals

People who say he cant play full forward are making exuses for him.

He wont commit his body to get a hard ball.

We need more goals out of him.

Get a bit tougher tazz.

I'm a Geelong supporter and don't rate Kingsley, however - It's interesting to note that he averages more goals per game than Tarrant in his career. Both I don't feel are 'genuine' full forwards and both cop the frustration of their respective supporters.

Just think it's funny how Tarrant get's hailed as a superstar forward when averaging less than 2 goals per game.

Big leap not a bad set shot but very over-rated and horribly inconsistent ----- if he was playing somewhere other than Collingwood he'd hardly be worth mentioning.

What?
Aren't goal assists evidence of actually hurting the opposition?

Tarrant is a great player, while he doesnt kick goals, he isnt a full forward, but he does work hard but i think we will see a couple of big games from him in the next couple of weeks. I still think he has a bit of a confidence issue myself atm, but i think he will contributing a few key goals in the next couple of weeks.

I have been saying for years how frustrating Tarrant is.

Easiest half a mil any bloke has ever made in a year for sure.

This rubbish about people saying he is not a full forward and thus doesn't have to kick goals consistently, what a crock of absolute :D:D:D:De. The fact is he has 4-5 scoring shots on a regular basis. From a profeessional AFL player, I would expect that out of five scoring shots, at the bare minimum three of them should be goals. Let a lone from a 'super star' forward.

He is leading in Goal assists that shows he is hurting the opposition.
Someone needs to take marks up around the 50 and beyond so we can kick it into Rocca. I'd be happy if Tarrant only kicks 30-40 goals this year if it means he is kicking it into Rocca who can kick 65-75 for the year

In fairness to Tarrant, he has been knocked around a lot in previous seasons, and last season he played on one leg without any support from others due to injuries. Now that he is fitter, it takes a little time to find consistancy as shown with both Rocca and Fraser, but he is still having an effect though in other areas of his game.

Travis Cloke missing against West Coast didn't help him either in my opinion because he had to come up the ground more, so hopefully Cloke will be back this week. I don't want to have peaked as a side yet anyway, and I like the fact that there is room for improvement, particularly with the challenging fixture ahead.

Very well said, thats exactly what I think, though couldnt find the words to say it.

I lost patience with Tarrant a long time ago. More than happy to keep him but I’d jump at a trade involving a quality ruckman or midfielder that’s of a similar age.

he sux bad and should be traded. dunno wot every1 sees in him maybe they are blinded by his huge unused biceps. hes a full forward and his kicking is absolutely atrocious (worse than when he first came to the club!) and he cant take a contested mark to save himself. he always sooks when he doesnt get a free. a decent ruck or midfielder instead of tarrant would be much more of benfit to the team. in my mind tarrant will go down as one the most overated players ever to play at the pies..

Tarrant l feel is one of these guys that may need a change to see his full potential realised.

To get a premium Ruckman for Taz would be the best result for Collingwood. Tarrants up around the HFF/Wing posessions and goal assists could easily be counted for by both Cloke and Fraser. Another quality ruckman would have gotten Collingwood over the line last Saturday night, and dare l say it would have won Collingwood a premiership in 2002 (Gee, Everitt would have been handy that day).

Collingwood can trade Tarrant, Richards, Fanning and their 1st draft choice to get Cox.

Tarrant's form is fine this year.
You people are expecting him to be dominate like Wayne Carey just because he has a bit of talent. IMO his natural talent is overrated, he works hard, leads hard, chases hard has good vision and great field kicking skills and can take strong marks and screamers. He isn't a good kick at goal (well he is when he gets it right but too inconsistant), and only has average footy smarts.
He may very well exceed his 2003 AA year, but I don't think he can improve on that much. I think he is a player who hasn't been consistant enough throughout the years (2003 was a super consistant year) but has just about got the most out of his talent.

He is currently 9th in the MVP award this year.
