RD 13 Win Thread Rant

Do it the same as last game with Bullet Points.

Cons

  • Putting up with Both Throbby and that C**k Sucking F**kwit Tim Lame
  • Leon is really out of Touch and a few Games in the VFL might help him get it back
  • Dick getting Injured
  • Players falling over too much
  • Bad Goal Kicking kept the Oppostion into the Game Again

Pros

  • Ben Reid's Best Game as a Defender smashed White
  • Dawes having an Impact
  • Jolly's Best Game as a Pie
  • Sidebottom was good as a Small Forward
  • L Brown showing we don't need Fraser
  • Pendles doing well as Captain
  • We Won and got a Break in the Top 4

Agree with all of those points, especially about Tim Lane. The guy is an absolute knob.

Yeah he Knocked Eddie for being Biased and This Knob is the Same the Other Way:mad::mad::thumbsd::thumbsd:

Mm yeah i agree with all of this and Jolly was amazing tonight getting 24 hitouts and one goal. Just a shame he couldnt have kicked the other two.

O'brien and Sidebottom were also excellent tonight. And i beleive that wellingham is SLIGHTLY showing better form.

And oh damn didn't presti & co. do a good job on goodes tonight?

no love for luke ball? he was great in and under tonight. goldsack was good and tooveys job on hannebury was first class although im so nervous when he gets the ball

Was going to mention him as well, but he's good all the time :)
He did play an Excellent game though.

why is all this - Leon must be dropped! 2 games ago he freaking was the biggest reason we beat the Dogs. F*** me , Harry better keep his form up because a couple of quiet ones and Corrie will be taking his spot

Tim Lane is an absolute ****wit.

Fairly good team effort. Although there were stages in the 3rd and 4th where we lapsed in our pressure and were let off the hook.
Heath Shaw was not BOG , gave me the shits with slipping over and some of his ****ing dumb , panic , compulsive play ons from the kickout.
I was nearly going to let Leon off for his chase pressure , but that soft dropping of the ball into a Sydney players lap when he was about to get tackled in their forward 50 in the last cost us an immediate goal , and was an absolute disgrace.

Ball was excellent , his hardness and determination around the contest is first class.
Thomas was pretty good again.
Jolly very good.

Ball was his Usual Self but you did see why we missed him vs the Dees.

Goldsack was good.

Toovey was Good But Kicking still terrible

Sorry Carnation Marmalade, but Leon played a better game in the 2002 GF than he did tonight. He was abysmal, truly abysmal.

The level of commitment Lean displayed tonight cannot be tolerated - he HAS to be dropped.

yeh tim lane must of had this eyes closed when gary rohan ducked his head into wellingham! what the **** was he suppost to do? Fair tosser lane.:thumbsd:

agree with all those points dave... very good pros.. just add luke ball. our mids were great.. dane swan never plays a bad match.. heath shaw was fantastic too. daisy was amazing running up and down.. his set shots are poor though.

As much as a hate to admit it i think matthew Lloyd is a breath of fresh air!
He said he was impressed with both toovey and reid. Agreed with everything he said and his little stories about his playing days are good:thumbsu: loved the one about the umpire and his first game rohan saws.. however you spell it, and the words they had in his first match.

llyody you know your stuff! keep it up:thumbsu:

Lloyd is like many people who improve as the years go by. He was like a stunned mullet when he first got on tv as a kid. Tim Lane barracks for Carlton. I dont think you need any more reasons.

I dont like the amount of Hawthorn and Carlton supporters in the various commentary teams. All of them are far more one-sided than Eddie ever was. That little pip squeak Austin Jones is particularly annoying. If I remember correctly, he gave up football because he couldnt hack the pressure. I have no idea how that makes him an expert. Obviously, the ABC will give anyone a job. It shouldnt be too hard to find someone who can call a game like Brian Taylor.

Speaking of Throbby Balls, I particularly enjoyed watching Carlscum being beaten by Freo last weekend because of the commentary. Did anyone else notice how angry Throbby got with Carlscum in the last quarter? He was almost shouting at them a couple of times. It really brought a smile to my face.

Called Thorton an Idiot

What do people think of the 1st Half of the Season from Ben Sinclair and Josh Thomas?

My thoughts;

Sinclair;
His pre season was very good, and his form had him on the verge of a senior game, but injuries have restricted him a bit. He is a tough little bugger though, so with a few more games under his belt at VFL level, you never know, he may push for selection again. I'd say he has exceeded any first year expectations the club may have had of him.

Thomas;
Just getting better each time he plays. Doesn't matter what conditions he plays in, he excels in the centre corridor. His body probably isn't quite up to AFL level yet, but 1 or 2 pre seasons and we will have a Shane Crawford or Brent Harvey type mid on our hands. Had a great match from all reports in the VFL, especially in the second half. Like Sinclair, I would say he has exceeded expectations also.

Basically, by trading away our first 3 picks for Jolly and Ball, we made it hard for Hine and the recruitment team, but everything we have seen of these 2 so far just screams "bargains".:D

i thought goldy was terrific and he was playing with more vigour, I could go all conspiracy theory and say playing for his career this year but that'd be just guessing. Either way I'm pleased he's back in the side and doing well, I think he's AFL quality, has a Dustin Fletcher-esque quality in being a bit lanky and good with the spoils, good leg speed.

Cloke better then Cats Forwards

on One Week at a Time they where Discussing why Cloke Drops Off in Big Games, Where he starts off well and then Drops off by the 4th. Then Throbby said would Cloke get a Game for Another Team and Darcy said he would easily get into the Cats Forward Line where he better then all of them

Do you Agree?

I Do

Excellent on the lead and marking is top shelf. We all know the kicking is the issue.

On those three elements - leads, marking and goals - he beats Mooney who he is better at in the first two categories and even in the 3rd.

Pods is a better kick and pretty good in marking contest, but not as good on lead. Cloke is a better player, but Pods get's better return for his possessions.

Hawkins I'd definitely put behind Cloke is average across all 3 categories.

Well the Cats Forwards have an Awsome Midfield giving them the Ball and it comes through the Middle and not out Wide like us does help

That still deosn't explain his missed goals from easy positions inside 50.

That said, Trav would be an absolute top 5 beasty if he can sort out his kicking. I'd go for a leg-brace or pulley system if it straightened him out.
