Rumour Teague Gone

Lloyd and Liddle are the bigger problem at the Club than Teague could ever be.

Lloyd has been useless, list was set up by SoS then they pushed for Williams and Saad last year, happy with Saad at least, but nothing else to improve the club through culture shift or sourcing new assistants etc.

Liddle might have help with the financials but stabbed SoS in the back because he had too much influence and has neglected nthe football department entirely.

Get rid of them both, keep Teague and get him better assistants and a Football manager than can help him set team and club standards to get the most out of the players.

Personally I think they have seen the backlash about Lyon, not only his Job interview with Caro etc last week but also the way he left Freo and what was behind that may have them baulking at bringing him in and Clarko has probably said he will take a year off, leaves them to keep Teague and then sound out Clarko next year.

Win/win situation, back the current coach, show support, win back some confidence from supporters that want to see change but also leave the door open for Clarko next year if Teague can't get the team to perform with all the changes, board can't lose.

All about the board saving face, nothing to do with making the right choice, just want to keep their seats is all.
Everyone's fault at Carlton but the Board.

Most coaching contracts these days have a clause where as they only have to pay out 6 weeks (don't quote that number, in that range though). It would shock me if Teague isn't on this type of contract given how he got the job to begin with.
6 months.

Teague is managed by Liam Pickering so they won't leave a dime on the table.

Just a waiting game now.

AFL 2020: Gillon McLachlan, Travis Auld insist on six-month payout clauses for coaches, club staff for club receiving AFL financial help (theage.com.au)

Yes and no; depends when his contract was signed. A new coach, at an 'AFL funded' club has 6 months, yes. An older contract might have more - or less.
Good research 👍.

I think I read today that Clarko will be paid $450k next year which is 50% of his full 12 months entitlement.

For argument sake I'd assume Teague is on something similar. So might be 50% of $500k in his case so $250k payout.

I believe Clarko / Hawthorn negotiated his payout to occur across multiple seasons given the salary cap implications. Or so I've read around the BigFooty traps.

It's a game of chicken now.

Carlton are trying to make Teague quit so that the pay out is less. Teague is refusing to bow.

The payout figure for Teague being bandied around is $200 000.

Carlton will always be a club in a hurry. Driven by media all day every day. We sell papers like no other club. Good or bad news. Mainly bad these days. Carlton should embrace the attention and gain momentum off field with sponsorship and growth.

it’s a week out from the season carltons season is over but still it’ll go on. Teams playing finals won’t even get the attention we’re getting. We’re more relevant last than some teams breaking 100 year old premiership droughts.

The stupidest thing to happen this year is Collingwood trading out of a future pick and the come second last. When we pick swapped with Adelaide it was news all year. Collingwood do the worst list management decision in history and no one is talking about it. Pretty sure I’m right. Can you imagine if Carlton did what you did. Lol. Irrelevant.

Tell me your deluded, without telling me you’re deluded hahaha

Carlton aren’t a big club, they’re a long way off West Coast, Richmond and Collingwood. Everyone is just utterly dumbfounded in the treatment of Teague, your best performing coach since Brett Ratten

Malthouse and Bolton. Olympic 100m finals field there.

Teague can coach. Needs support. Carlton head coaching job is a graveyard.

A multiple time premiership coach and a disciple of Clarko.

Not too many clubs can say they have had the luxury of recruiting coaches of their caliber, even less can say they ruined the careers of multiple!
Calibre? First one on his retirement revenge tour, second one too stubborn, too naive. Think they both did a pretty good job of ruining Carlton as much as Carlton might have ruined them.

Observers know Collingwood will bounce back, like they always do.

It would be news if Carlton did on the basis of 'Just when you think things couldn't get any worse...'

Imagine if the bloke coaching Collingwood at the time of that "trade" was announced as your new coach in coming days..
