Is this the likely team?

Backs:--Wooden------Glass-------Green

HB:-----Chick---Seirakowski----Hunter

C:-------Embley------Kerr----------Judd

HF:-------Braun------Lynch------Jones

F: ------Matera-----Gardiner-----Sampi

Ruck: Cox---Fletcher---Cousins

Interchange: Read--Chambers--Banfield--Staker

In: Seirakowski, Lynch, Wooden, Morrison, Embley
Out: McDougall (Jaw) Jakovich (Hamstring) Wirrapunda (Groin)
McIntosh (retired)

Is Wirrapunda confirmed out?

What of Jakovich and Mcintosh if they are fit...will the hard decisions be made? Shades of Worsfold and Malthouse in the 98 final.

I don't think we'll bring in either Lynch or Sierakowski

Outs at the moment through injury look like being Jakovich, Wirrpunda, McDougall.

First man to come in would be Andrew Embley.
I'd also like to see Josh Wooden to come in.
And the third man in for those guys would be David Haynes (if uninjured). Otherwise, I'd like to see Woosha try and pull a rabbit out of the hat and bring in Hansen or Paul Johnson.....big punt, but sometimes those who back themselves, get the luck.

I'd play McIntosh, and how can we drop Jakovich?? two weeks ago he topped the disposals for the team......

Isnt Johnson out for the season with a broken leg?
I agree with what you say about Mcintosh and Jakovich.

yea bout two minutes after I posted it I realized that.....

but if Haynes wasn't fit, I reckon Woosha may just pull a rabbit of the hat, and play Hansen........just a hunch. May possibly play Lynch at FF, but I tend to lean towards Hansen.

There is no way that Jako, with his hamstring, is going to be able to hold Carey. Seirakowski is the only one with the experience and physical strength to hold him. Its either Seira or Carroll and I know who I would be bringing in.

Haynes didn't play last week through injury and Wilson didn't have a good game (for a long time) so I see the only alternative to replace McDougall would be Lynch. He hasn't be the best but he isn't the worst either.

Banfield injured his back and should miss. McIntosh was woeful and I can't see a match up for him. McGregor is too tall and Carey and Perrie would be too mobile. When we used him as a forward option it didn't work. We could see that Wirrpunda wasn't fit when he didn't take the kick ins.

Embley should be a definite and I would certainly like to see Wooden given the task on Johncork. Morrison played one of his best games of the year on the weekend and would add an extra dimension down back or maybe even on the half forward line. The rabbit should be Lynch who has been pushing all year and is the only tall we have that has been consistent and fit and has the physique to do some damage. Hansen still needs more time.

Sentiment doesn't win footy matches. Why go in with players who are injured or underdone? Against Freo we were left with a one man bench because we played with players with injuries which were worse than we (the public) knew. I will be dissappointed if Jako or Milli get a game knowing that there are others who are fitter and more capable of running out the four quarters.

Obviousbly if Jako isn't fit, I wouldn't play him, but someone drexel asked if we play him if he is fit?? of course we do, he took 10 marks two weeks ago and was close to best a field.

Is Haynes still injured. If he's back I'd like to see him in the team.

I didn't realize Banfield was out either?? This will be interesting to see who's in and out.

He didn't play on the weekend so either Woosh is keeping him back or he is injured

he was injured on the weekend, but it was only a "rolled ankle" from what i was told, so one would think he is right this weekend?

If he is, we'd have to play him you'd think....??

His form was pretty crappy before he was sent back to the WAFL

Round Date vs. K H P M HO T FF FA G B
ROUND 19 09/08/2003 Adelaide 6 6 12 5 0 1 0 0 0 1
ROUND 20 16/08/2003 Geelong 2 1 3 1 0 1 1 2 1 0

and his WAFL game wasn't that impressive either.

TD K H M HR G B T FF FA I50 BG
9 6 3 5 0 3 0 0 0 0 1 0

I don't think he deserves a recall based on form and coming back from injury. Give him a run in the WAFL and save him for Collingwood.

yea but you gotta remember in that time, the team was playing like a bunch of *******s.

I thought dropping Haynes, who was the FF at that time, was token effort to shake things up.

When things where going the way there were, you can't turn around and blame it on the FF - after all, his output is generally the result of the work done by the midfield.

I would like to see Morrison as well. The guy is all class when fit, and even 2 quarters off the bench would probably be more useful than 2 from Chambers (although it would be cruel to drop him but he did nothing last week, at the wrong time of the season)

As for Jako and Mcintosh...it's one too many liabilities. This is do or die here, not a send-off for club champions. Jako's game against Melbourne was against a rookie that weighed half as much as him. Mcintosh did nothing last week.

Lynch kicked 5.4 against the Crows last year in his second game. Jako, Mcintosh have never kicked 5 in their whole career.

Sierakowski and Lynch deserve selection. It's only name that saves the other two. The sooner it's over, the sooner we go forward.

With our midfield being curbed the way it has been lately we don't get the ball down quick enough for a fast leading forward to be effective. If we can start winning in the ruck with Cox then Gardiner would be our best bet for Full Forward. With two crumbing smalls (Sampi and Matera) our best option is to have a tall in the square.

Haynes' best 2 games of the year were Rd.9 & 10. He decided he was going to sit on his arse after that. We won't win the game with Haynes at FF.

If Jako & Mcdougall are out, Lynch has to get a game. He is our only proven goalkicking big forward against Adelaide who has any form.

Seira should come in for consideration at CHB. Carroll is a joke and should never wear the jumper again IMO.

The respect I have for Woosha and the coaching staff will be significantly reduced if Lynch does not play, and they select Carroll & Haynes.

Yep. Ditto, along with Morrison.

the main point is we need fit guys for this game. morrison, collica.wooden, hansen haynes must be in the mix if we have so many dodgy players

I'll be slightly disappointed if the selection committee go with Sierakowski over Lynch or Hansen. We have to keep one eye on the future and going back to Siera (as much as I reckon he's a great bloke) is not going to help the club in the long run

Hansen won't play - it's obvious they think he's not ready yet or he would have been picked weeks ago.

According to the West, the coaching staff reckon Lynch looks like he has his best chance of the year to play, unfortunately they still seem to think Haynes is some sort of answer up forward despite it only working in 3 games out of 20 so far.

Seira gives us a big body with some experience. Will probably be his last game too so hopefully he has a big one.
