I'm bored waiting for this dam draft so I thought I would post how I would like to see the team line up for our first trial game.

Of course there is going to arguements for & against a heap of players, injuries, new draftees etc. but if people can just add their teams with explanations that would be appreciated.

From my point of view I would love to see all our young guys given a game so those of us who haven't seen them much can see how they go. It also gives them all a chance to do a Mackay and play most of the year.

I tried to pick a team that hopefully wouldn't get spanked, has a heap of excitement and all the young guys get a chance to play.

if this is the practice game against Norwood; it'd be that team minus the senior players.
so you're missing guys like Knights, Reilly, Griffin, Moss, possibly Martin and some game time for Hentschel. Armstrong is probably still more than a year away of playing AFL, but i guess it wouldn't hurt to give him game time. more senior players like Goodwin, Rutten, Stevens, Thompson, Johncock and Bock would be left out to just give some youngsters a run.

if you're thinking about NAB cup, Armstrong would definitely not be included, as i doubt he'd be pushing for a spot next season, but i'm thinking quite a few of the 2nd years might be given a go, especially, Walker, Danger, Otten, Petrenko, Kite and possibly Cook and Moss as well. Sellar too, would be a sure inclusion...as we are all hoping for more improvement from him.

i don't really care to see Martin or Armstrong, as both seem at least another year away, but am undecided on Gallman...i say we play both Gallman and Kite to see who is better to take a spot in the Crows defence, as i doubt both would be included in the team by season's start.

Ok here's my drunken effort

We are supposed to be in the gun to play the Indigenous All Stars in early feb according to Rucc. It will be interesting to see how we line up in that match

HB: Moss Moran Petrenko
B: Kite Rutten Martin

R: Maric Goodwin Porplyzia

I/C: Griffin Symes Otten pick 10 in 08 draft

I think it would be good to give a few of the second year players ago, like we did this year with Tippett, MacKay etc. Also i think that Moss and Martin deserve ago because the club has obviously shown faith in them by keeping them as second year rookies, with a good pre-season under their belts and possibly some NAB cup time and a good start to the 09 SANFL season one of them could push for a spot on the main list, cause of a Burton being on the long term injury list.

FF:Walker Hentschel Tippet
HF:Knights Seller Douglass
C:Otten VB McKay
HB:Johncock Bock Kite
FB:Kite Rutten Martin
R:Maric Porps Dangerfield

Int: Griffen and all the young players

I really want the young players to come through and see what they have, would like to see otten in the midfield since he played nearly all year there with south. Put danger into the midfield, explosive speed and breaking tackles which we need, and he looks like a tough lil nut, walker and sellar in the forward lines, sellar could be better, more accurate kicking and but believe gill has great pressure skills, walker has that bit of magic like hentschel and tippet full time up there, and have maric nd griffen swapping. Have left all the older blokes out as this is the nab cup, where we want to see young talent not the players we see all year.

Kite twice ?? Is that his younger brother Bruce Kite ?

I like the teams listed so far but I personnally would love to see some more pace and flair injected into the midfield - to see if we can run the ball through the lines and get into attack more quickly.

The inclusion of Dangerfield starts this process but I would love to see either Petrenko or Cook thrown into the midfield as well. Thompson, Van Berlo, Knights & co all seem a bit one paced to me and we need to have runners coming past them to keep the forward thrusts moving quickly.

Our best periods of play of late have been when Andrew McLeod runs the ball in through the lines (albeit from HBF) but he can't do this forever.

Mackay also seems to have plenty of pace, and is a great kick. So I'd like him to get plenty of opportunity to run the ball into the forward line.

Damn Yellow cards. Cant start a new thread. Just confirmed, we will play the Aboriginal All Stars in Darwin in February. McLeod wants to be fit in time to play AGAINST us. Looking forward to it:thumbsu:

Do you know what the date is? I think initially it was the 7th of February.
