Me and a mate were talking about this today, but it really only just dawned on me the level of young talent we're assembling. We are going to be scary good in the next few years, try this on for size (provided we get Scully and Butcher):

HB: Grimes Rivers Garland
FB: Frawley Warnock Cheney
R: Jamar McLean Blease

INT: Martin, Moloney, Jones, Green

the cusp: Bennell, Jetta, Strauss, Maric, Wonna, Buckley... there's a few more I'mn forgetting off the top of my head and undoubtedly I've left someone important out of the 22.

That list is super young and super stacked with talent. Not only that, they're getting games now, and they can all run. Get ready guys, we're going to be wacthing this team for about 7 years.

Nah I like Jurrah as the third tall, Roberston-esque role. Not many teams have two defenders big enough to take Butcher and Watts height-wise, so Jurrah is going to get someone undersized.

Footy teams are set out with the backs at the top and the forwards at the bottom. Like Bruce Hornsby sang, that's just the way it is. While I'm at it, the Poms have got it the wrong way round too, its not 435-9, its 9-435.

Mind you, a couple of things we can all agree on:

(a) we are assembling a very nice little football side;
(b) we would all have Jack Grimes' babies;
(c) not only is Aaron Davey the best field kick in the competition, he has
developed a serious hardness at the ball;
(d) Phoenix's best album is still United; and
(e) our backline is set for years; and

I'm not getting excited about anything until we get off the bottom of the ladder (presferably not this year).

The positive is we have a lot of young players coming through at the same time (whether half will be any good is another story)

That should be "Foll" for followers. It can't be "R" for "Ruck" or "Rover" or "Ruck Rover" because there is only 1 of each in those positions. That is of course unless you are trying to use "R" to cover all three but I'd consider that to be a bit sloppy though.

Bruce and Jones should still be getting a game.
