Sounds like what a famous person on these boards said earlier in the week:D ;)

Also, do we have a rat on the interchange? "Ben" the two of us need look no more.

Don't think there was a lot of surprises with the ins/outs.
If you believe the team placings at all, I like Jerricho on the wing, and it appears the Blight fav of a ruckman in a FP has been taken on board by Craig.

It will be interesting to see how the continuing experiment of playing Doughty as a midfielder works out.
He certainly looks better and attcked the ball harder since taking on a midfield role.

Took me some figuring out to realise that Ben = Rutten.
Yeah Scott Stevens.

As long as it is not Ben our ex-ruckman, it will be OK! ;)

Given Sydney has a smaller side, I would play Rutten up forward, as 1) there is no real matchup for him defence (along with Kenny & Bassett) & 2) help stretch Sydney's backline.

What's the weather prediction for Sydney on Sunday?

Saturday : Dry. Mostly sunny. NW/NE winds.

Sydney: 11 20

And stop giving me heart palpitations by mentioning THAT Ben!!!

Doughty has been playing as a HBF in the last 2 or 3 games.

No surprises with the changes. Looks a reasonable side. Play Rutten in defence even if it means playig Kenny up forward.

I'll beg to differ on that Stiffy.
Has been part of the midfield rotation in many of his games of late, yes changing of a HBF.

That's as I saw it too Stiffy. When he was further up the ground I presumed he had followed his man up.

If he did have spells on the ball they must have been very short bursts.

This team must have a genuine chance of beating the Swans this week. 4 consecutive wins, with the last 2 at the SCG.

From a tipping point of view I've gone conservative and gone with the home team, Sydney.

But this is a genuine winnable game if the boys play with the same enthusiasm as last week. That's the big unknown, I guess!!

Doughty spent 80-90% of the time on HBF lately and like you I just assumed he followed his man further up the ground. Can't remember him being in the centre square lately

This is a very winable game and our record in Sydney is pretty good. If we play with the same enthusiasm as we did against Melbourne I reckon we are a good chance. Unlike you I have to take a few punt with my tips so I catch up with the leaders so I went for Adelaide.

I don't think it will be a pretty, free flowing game. I think it will turn into a very negative game with Sydney doing a lot of flooding and tagging.

Hopefully we come away with a win ;)

I think you're right. Roos would have seen the free flowing footy we played last week, and if we were allowed to play the same way, IMO we would carve them up too.

That's why I see Roos getting his team to play that ugly flooding, tagging and short chipping game to prevent that happening. That would become a big test for our young players if that happens.

AS I said earlier, our season's no longer really about winning and losing. It's about how the young players cope with each challenge.

Absolutely.

Thats why I would give youngsters big jobs starting with Rutten on Hall. I am pretty sure Truck would be itchig for the challenge. Its bigger test than Neitz was last week but knowing a bit out Ben, he would take it head on.

I also don't think that Welsh will be as prolific goal kicker as he was in the last couple of weeks. He might still kick 4 (which will be a big effort) but Leo Barry will run him around a bit. Welshy's defensive side ot his game must be at its peak on saturday. Roos will want to stop Welsh and might probably double team him. This is where I think one of the youngsters MUST step up and kick 4 goals. I reckon with Sydney's undersized backline, Watts could play his best game for the club and kick 3-4 for the night :)

If Rutten plays on BBBBH & the Hound takes O'Loughlin, where does Kenny play? CHF? Perhaps swap with Bock going in to defence, as he can probably match up on mid-size players better.

Yeah, Dogga has been mainly playing on a HBF, but often ended up on the wing if his opponent runs further up the ground (to create space in forward line).

No surprises at team selection this week, which makes a change from the constant Thursday-night hair-pulling of the first half of the year.

Interesting that the Crows only had 27 players to choose from this week. The only poor souls - available - not selected in our first-25 are Ian Perrie and Chris Ladhams. Me thinks Perrie's time is up.

Unavailable due to Injury: Burton, M.Stevens, Hentschel, Bode, Krueger, Schuback, Hart, Goodwin, Begley.
Retired: Smart, Carey

Also, of note, is the fact that our long injury list has barely garnered a mention in the media. Yet, Port's injury problems earlier in the year were all over the back pages as the excuses spewed out of Alberton.

Additionally, I think the fact that our young players have done so well over the last 2 games indicates that there's probably more depth in our squad than most of us initially thought.

I think the Crows are a real show tomorrow night.

Roger and Out. :D

Its a shame that Hart and Begley are both out as IMO they are excellent match-ups for Micky O.

Rutten should get the job on Hall, with Kenny Mac at CHF.

I genuinely think he can kick 3-4 goals as long as he is given the full game and is kept close to the goals. No one is tall enough to match up on him as far as Swans' backline is concerned. Goodes would probably be the best bet but I don't think Roos will be keen to drag Goodes to the last line of defence.
