GEELONG - Fighting On
I am really starting to get worried that we are heading down the path to bottom end of the ladder. I ave looked at this article in Geelonginfo.com.au.

I must say I am amazed again, Bomber says one thing on Saturday then he say this dribble, in the article.

Seasoned Cats set to line up

GEELONG looks set to field its most experienced team when it takes on West Coast on Friday night, in a bid to qualify for the Wizard Homeloans Cup semi finals.
With the four group three teams equal on points heading into the final round, Cats coach Mark Thompson is expected to call on experienced senior players Cameron Mooney, Brad Sholl and Brent Grgic for the must win match.

New recruits James Bartel, James Kelly and Gary Ablett have been impressive in their VFL matches, but Thompson said he didn't want to use the Subiaco clash as match practice for his less experienced players.

``There will be a few changes,'' he said.

``There's the possibility of a couple of younger blokes.

``But Mooney has been playing pretty well, Grgic, Sholl is due back. I'll probably go for experience.

``We will be trying to win the match.''

With captain Ben Graham inspirational booting nine goals from the past two matches and Mitchell White finding some form, Thompson said the inclusion of Mooney would help form a formidable forward line combination.

``I'd be looking for him to work in with Benny, Grgic, (Aaron) Lord, Ronnie Burns,'' he said.

``Because he didn't play much (during the pre season), we gave him a few games in the reserves. He's got his form back and he's ready to play now.

``He's more mature (than he was last year), I'm pretty confident he can control his emotions and if he does, he's got the skill and ability to play well. That will be good for us.''

Meanwhile in less promising news for the Cats, 2001 best and fairest winner Brenton Sanderson sat out last night's training session to nurse an injured knee, while David Johnson left the training track early with a rib complaint.

Johnson aggravated the problem in a training drill last night, after receiving a heavy knock to his rib cage during Saturday's clash against Carlton, while Sanderson was rested as a precautionary measure.

Both are expected to be available for Friday night's clash against West Coast.

end of article

Cameron Mooney has not proven himself, Im sorry just because you played a few senior games your not an established player. Why not give Matty McCarthy or Henry Playfair a game, its only a wizard cup game.

If Sanderson and David Johnson are injured in any way give them a rest.

Kilpatrick, Milburn, Mensch and Spriggs(obviously) are not available for the first game or games. At least give one, of Bartel, Kelly or Gary jr a run.

Thank you

Ablett Jr. definitely deserves a run-out..... and I'm going to keep campaigning for it until he gets it. :D From all reports and accounts, he is definitely ready for the big-time.

Cheers,
William
