I am surprised that the MC have excluded Robbo after he apparently dominated last week in the VFL.

However, it may be a case of wanting to see Robbo back it up before he gets a recall to the senior team.

Getting 44 disposals and kicking 3 goals in a dominant display is a great sign, however it will be even more impressive if he can back it up with another great game this week.

The MC may well just be looking for a little consistency in Robbo's game before they bring him back into the seniors - and I can certainly see the logic behind such a move.
I see what your saying J, and if they named him on the extended bench, but didn't pick him I'd agree.
After what seems like a fairly dominant display though (not sure he's the kind to rack up loads of "soft touches") I just wonder if there is something we are missing and for some reason the MC aren't happy with him.

If it was a case of "great job, keep up the good work" they would name him on the extended bench as encouragement, as clearly they are doing with Johnson and Thornton.

If Chris Johnson plays then sack the MC. :thumbsd::eek:
I would also like to see Robbo in the side to get games under him, if they are willing to do it with Henderson then why not Robbo.
Apparently 44 touches in the 2's isnt enough to warrant an emergency spot over the Chris "my kicks go straight but unfortunately straight to the opposition" Johnson

Seriously, the side they played last week couldn't beat the Ants reserves...

Robbo just ran around by himself and racked them up...

We will see how he goes this week...

Interesting.

Saints are very hard so hard bodies are all important. They are fairly quick at rebounding and running the ball the length of the ground too so pace is important. They also flood so kicking skills are important in order to beat the flood.

Robbo would be handy for his hardness, not very quick but probably a match for several Saints runners. Garlett would be important for pace but is not hard and will be pushed off the ball. Johnson can kick a long goal and can pinpoint passes. Everybody falls back on that one horror quarter where he turned the ball over a few times before going off injured, as evidence he can't kick. The truth is he is a good kick but he had a bad quarter. He also is not overly quick and does not have a hard body.

Very hard to tell who is going to go out of the side.

I do think Hendo might be a little slow but is somewhat versatile. Maybe White will miss as he is a little easier to outbody.

Anyone think Hendo might be a good match up for Kosi, while Waite can go forward and use his leap and pace to negate Fisher or Gilbert?

Robbo needs to perform well for at least another week to warrant selection. One good game where we won by 100 points does not constitute a call up. He needs to put in the hard yards over the next few weeks and then may be ready for a call up.

It would seem to explain a lot as you said, but at that same
time his injury history is coming back to haunt him again. Not good signs either way really.

Well we seem to have a capacity for rehab - Walker, Warnock, O'Keefe... Hey! There's room on our LTIL, too! Not that I want him to be injured...

Johnson might be named in the event Russell misses with injury. :(

I enjoy playing against the top sides. We have nothing else to lose really. This seems to bring out the best in our players and everyone seems to switch on more. Last 2 games against Geelong, and we'd have knocked St Kilda off last time if it wasn't for our snail start. Bring it on!

Yeah, I struggle to see why The Saints are such clear favourites. .. our game suits whichever style they choose to attempt and without Nick they are pretty fragile. .. We just need to be patient and run the lines when given the chance and I can see us winning whichever ins and outs they decide on. ..

I do hope Waite returns and plays off a wing where he plays his best footy. ..

Edit: My preference:

Int From: Garlett, Johnson, White, Henderson (Thornton)

In - Johnson, Waite, (Thornton)
Out - McLean - Hip, Carrazzo, (Henderson)

:thumbsu: x2

Aparently the MC is happy with the shite that was dished up last week against the pies and are making sure we lose a 13th in a row against the Saints.

Henderson: must be dropped, can't catch a beanbag which makes is kind of important for a tall forward. Send him back to the two's to get some confidence.

Carrazzo: turned the ball over every single time he touched it, all of his possesions should of been on the collingwood stat sheet. Must be dropped.

White: Been shown up in every game against opposition forwards, has done well but Thorton needs to come in for him.

Something weird about Robinson not coming in, would be perfect for the saints we need his hardness after his 43 possesion, 3 goal, 10 tackle effect for the bullants WTF! lets bring in Browne and Johnson instead FFS.

Yep, thats it, you nailed it, they are deliberately trying to ensure we lose. Were you born that dumb or do you have to work at it?

This is our first game at the dome. Got a feeling Hendo could play well at the dome. He looks good as a lead up forward and they seem to play well at the dome when skills at their best and lead up forwards get great service. Could be kept in for this reason.

I hate how a lot of people on the board get stuck into the MC and Chris Johnson. Yes, I know he had a couple of bad games last year, especially 1 game in particular. He was then injured for most of the year and didn't get a chance to redeem himself.

He has worked hard, got himself fit and been in the best most games if not all of the bullants games. You can't ask anymore of him than that. The guy deserves a second chance.

Imagine if the MC listened to what this board were saying about JR over the last few years and now he is one of the 1st picked every week.

Johnson is a fantastic kick....we need blokes who can kick and hit targets consistently....he's been playing well in the twos, his contracted so give him a chance.

Whats the worst possible thing that can happen, he isn't up to it and gets dropped? He knows his on his last legs so give the bloke an opportunity to prove himself, he has top class skills and if he can play some good competitive footy and touch the ball 20 times he will be an asset to the side.

There is no point having blokes on a list for the sake of it...try him out!

OUT!!!! (no offence to Johnson but would rather Browne)

What the hell is everyone basing this hatred of Johnson on? Some clangers he made 10 months ago? Get over it people, he is dominating with 30-40 touches a game in the ants, and 0 clangers. Don't comment on players you haven't seen play in almost a year just because of a reputation they may have had.
