I am pleased to announce that Team Vision has officially won the election. What a great result. Hopefully now Melbourne can unite and get on the front page of the paper for the right reason. I am so overjoyed, I feel like bursting into song. What the heck, Why not

I am surprised how much Team Vision won by. They gained 65% of the vote.
Gutnick placed 11th, but was 2300 votes behind 10 th place.
That gives Team Vision a fairly clear mandate.

Oh why is that??? because thats how i feel? Have i argued the fact that team vision won?? no i have not! I made a comment which sadly enough i believe is true, im not happy about it just as i am not happy with the winners! You are complaining. You are now saying that in a few years we are going to merge. It will not happen. TV never brought up the merger issue. It was MFirst that did.
If you decided to do some research, you would realise that they changed the Club's Constitution to state that a meger would need 75% support to pass. Meaning it will never happen anyway.

Ok so we don't merge but we fold which is even worse!
Thats just the way i see it at the moment, Team Vision has done nothing so far to change my mind and if they do well than good, but i doubt they will.
Its a shame that we will now regain the image we all want to get rid off, that rich, posh, MCC, ski lovers, range rover drivers image... god i hate that image but what do you expect when a team like team vision is heading your club??

If you don't like the image why barrack for the Club? If you hate it so much then don't bother.
AS for your other comment, Team Vision has only been in for 12 hours, what do you expect them to have done!

I don't barrack for the club because of their image, and unlike some people i will not stop supporting them nor will i not buy a membership just because my prefered leader didn't win the election!

I'm with you there, DEES RULE! But that was my feeling from the start. This is my club, no matter who runs it. I will continue to be proud, passionate and paid up! (Or was that some other team's membership drive slogan?)

I think it was Richmond's slogan.... shame on you!

Anyways as i said on the AFL board, i will support to the best of my ability the current board members because if there is one situation that could be worse than this, is having to go through this AGAIN!

AMEN! It would be awful to have everyone on the Melbourne Board at each other's throats over which side they support again. We just have to wait and see how well the new Board does, I guess.

(Btw: I thought it was Hawthorn's slogan. What have some of ours been?)

This year's was "I've paid the price"..... gee that one blew me away

For the "she devil club" they can have a slogan saying... "Good girls go to heaven... i wasn't invited!"

I feel very sorry for Joe and his team.
They had the best candidates (some even in TV were privately concerned about the quality of MF candidates!)

There are only 3 reasons why TV won :

1. Robbie Flower factor (just wait and see he won't be on board for too long!)
2. The sponsors proxy votes !
3. The dirty campaign by TV and the media against Joe.

I know I sound like a sour loser, but thems the facts.

I just hope this club can stay afloat in its own right, but I am not confident.

Reasons why Gutnick lost (Not the issues like divsive and all that)

1. Robbie Flower incident: That was badly handled and MF got the kicking they deserved for it.
2. Greg Sword on the ticket: Bad move by Joe. To have the President of the ALP on board when a large majority of Melbourne supporters would be on the other side of the fence.
3. Such issues as board unity with TV.
4. Not one former player on Joe's ticket. Can't be helped, because very few past players supported him.

Another thing: What makes MF candidates better than TV. The new candidates TV had on board had very good "resumes" so to speak.

You can't ever say I sometimes don't agree with you

1. MF couldn't do anything else, but support Robbie via their ticket. They didn't actually nominate him!! But you are right, he was TV's trump card, but unfortunately little Mr. Guest got in his ear...I actually felt sorry for Robbie in this issue as he really did not want to jump on board, but was persuaded, and even in the foyer on the night of the election, said to a girlfriend of mine he would work with Gutnick if he was elected. (I swear this is the truth Dees01..he actually did say it....and I am even more confused with his changing of his mind 3 times now)!!

2, Greg Sword....he's fantastic. and would have been great for the club if he was elected .. and you are probably right, perhaps the majority of Melb. supporters vote Liberal at this stage, but its becoming more and more a working class/middle class class membership base.

3. Sorry could not understand what you meant on this one.

4. Myself, I don't believe ex-players should be on a board unless they have exceptional qualities and qualify for a particular role, what the club needs is a good footy dept. and coach.
But concede that most supporters would not agree with me.
I know you think I know everything, but I speak the truth, there were some players (ex) who almost jumped on board with Joe, but pressure to bear by peoples

made it practically impossible for them to join Joe.
He did have some support from ex-Reserves and U/19's players who actually came and spoke for him at his Kimberley Gardens get together.

The dirty campaign by TV and the media (e.g. 3aw and Dr. Turf and Hookes) to discredit Joe didn't help his cause.
Sponsor proxies played a huge role as well...if not for them it would have been neck and neck and had the elction been held mid-year Joe would have romped it in....

Why did Guest and ex-directors who wanted us to merge with Hawks fund TV's campaign??????????????????????
Divisive.........isn't that the tune TV played all during the campaign.

I feel sorry for Joe so much and I am embarrassed as to how he was treated by some of our so called members and ex\board members......what's the saying????
