lets hope the team is switched on this week. not many changes were ever really likely. :thumbsu:

still one more permanent marking forward would be handy.

Weren't many options to bring in. Should get McVeigh, Gumbleton and Lucas backs over the next few weeks. Johnson will get a farewell game. Could see Rama, Johnson, Mal and Peverill all finish up in our final game against St Kilda.

Seemed the logical change considering.

Off topic, do you think i will be able to just walk up and get two tickets to this game? Am hoping to go, but not 100% sure yet if i will be able to.

I'm predicting a decent win... Cause of Lloyds 250 and all, + a superb record in Vic against them gives hope as well.

Courtenay Dempsey a key role as a sweeper, should give some shine for the backline, him and Lovett are a great combo.

Can't wait to see Patty Dangerfield as well...

(Premature but) Bombers by 30, breaking the game open late in the fourth 1\4.

Yes Magin was quiet last week but are we building for the future or treading water?

With finals gone, bringing in a 29 going on 30 next year for a first year kid after 1 game is incredible given Knights's committment to playing the kids.

Very dissapointing. Would understand it if a finals spot was on the line but for god sake show a bit of initiative and give the young bloke a chance.

You just don't get it do you?

He is not up to it and no matter how much game time he gets he will not automatically get better.

You give kids game time that can play and make an impact. Magin is at least another year away from playing any role at AFL level. It is very debatable if he will make it.

if he earnt his spot in the side then i would agree with you. however, he only got a call up 'cos our injury list is as high as the eureka tower.

he was like a lost lil puppy out there, looking for their way home. give him more time to develop

Don't like the look of that bench. But with so many injuries I guess it's harder to get dropped.

My sentiments exactly.

Was a bit dissapointed that none of reimers, spike, lucas, atkinson came up, anyone of them would be better than that bench.

Still think that Hooker is a huge chance to play this weekend as need another tall marking forward

Not debating the fact that he didn't look good last week. Just think that when finals are gone... again, you don't drop a kid who had a poor debut and replace him with a bloke who's more than likely going to be gone next year anyway. We all know what Pev' will do. It's counter productive

I think it's you that's struggling to get it there champ.

My comments are about building a side for the future. Magin may or may not be part of that. We definately know that Peveril won't be part of it. That is not in question.

Yes Magin was poor last week. Certainly not the first bloke to be poor on debut especially in a side that played as disgustingly as we did.

Bringing in blokes for one week to debut, then dropping them the following week for a bloke who won't be there next year is rediculous!

Further more you half wit, nobody ever said he'd automatically get better. At least by playing him with a bit of consistency (with nothing to loose) he gets an opportunity to improve.

Maybe by giving him a few games at the backend of the year he'll show a few good signs (as Reimers did in the back end of last year) and provide a great platform for him to build on for 2009.

Granted, there's every chance he won't but nothing ventured nothing gained. By playing Peveril, there is absolutely nothing to be gained.

What message will that send to the playing group?

"Sorry Pev, you're training the house down and playing well but we won't select you because we've got this kid over here"

Don't think that would go down well with the group at all.

Steady on steam boat. He's in. But the changes were fine anyway, Pev deserves his spot in the team, Magin doesn't.

These "kids" have to be perfectly aware they need to really earn their spot in the team. It's the best single motivator in a footy team. You give em games and they'll take it for granted.

Just look at Pev as an example - tihnk back to 2001. Regardless of what time of the season it is, regardles sof whether finals are an option, we play to win.

Bendigo is for development, not Essendon. I hate this notion that playing kids in the seniors is automatically better than playing them in the reserves.
