Fisher out?

He did well on Goodes in Round 1 of what I can recall. Goodes had his worst game in a while then.

hahaha and now we wait for the complete smashin Ross Lyon is gonna get from fans re Armitage dropping. Other then that not too bad ins i must say this harvey chap sounds alright haha. Pity they get hall back but

What has Birss done to deserve to be dropped.

If nothing else he is our one reliable shot at goal!

Cheers
Dagz

Spot on.

Lyon is a deadset moron if he has dropped this bloke. Would easily be in the Top 8 in our B and F at this point.

EDIT - I just looked at the emergencies and I see that he is named there. Lyon is a complete moron. His selections are ridiculous.

There is only one way of explaining these selections

Has he written off this year and trying to see who to de-list at EOY.
Armitage has proven he can do it and has been dropped to ensure room for Ferg/Gwilt.
This game would just about be last chance for Ferguson.
Second last chance for Gwilt.
Why is Fiora listed for Emergency? Does he get another chance.

Ususally players lift a bit when they go against their old club but Schneider was pretty ordinary last time. Maybe Dempster will fire up.
I think Sydney will kill us in our forward line unless something radical happens ( like Fisher or Gram moved forward). Dal Santo should play on Hall because his face is already ugly and another hit won't make much difference!

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry...

- where is Steven Baker (he is not on the official injury list) ?

- why is Birss as the only reliable kicker in the team only an emergency ?

- didn't the official injury list give Harvey 1-2 weeks ?

- will King really play (McEvoy has not been named as an emergency) ?

- did Armitage have an affair with Lyon's wife or daughter (not even an emergency) ?

- why will we, with Birss, Baker and L Fisher out and Blake required in the backline, play without a tagger ?

:eek::confused::mad:

I don't believe that for a second.

If that's the case there is no reason why they would bring in Gilbert straight away, they would give one of the rookies a crack.

This decision to drop Armitage infuriates for me no end. That is saying that David Armitage is not good enough to be part of St.Kilda's plans to play Sydney. He wasn't selected for Round 1 and now is dropped for this game. This is a joke. In a game where many stoppages will occur, his attack on the ball is sensational.

Somebody better do something to calm me down because my lid is off!

Looking at the Casey teams McQualter hasn't been named in neither seniors or reserves. Wouldn't surprise me if McQualter came in for Harvey.

We dont frigging play carlton or richmonds games. We dont tank... Leigh Fisher had his leg strapped at training yesterday, Birss is a emergency...may still come in and Armo copped a very heavy hit last weekend so just maybe the medical staff know a bit more than us guys and gals on a forum??

its official: i want RL head on a platter. he disgusts me.

wen i wished him good luck on his way to his coach box...

DONUTS..

thankfully barker gave me a nod:thumbsu:

Pathethic. How does Birss get dropped, yet Dempster, Ferguson and Gwilt stay in the side?

We are only half a game outside the eight. We could try and pick a team that could possibly win. Didn't Birss have 14 disposals last week, compared with two disposals for Ferguson? In a team that had 110 less disposals:confused:

Yes I'm probably wrong, I'm just trying to make sense of the goings on within the asylum.
If we want to win we should play Armitage in every game, and we should not even list Fiora as emergency.
Are we tanking? Why?

Come to think of it, i do not think Harvey will line up on Saturday. HS reported he will miss another match, so there must be some doubt (calf?) Birss will probably come in.

McQualter derserves a go ahead of Gwilt and Ferguson.

I'm happy for Gwilt to have kept his spot. I'd like to see him given an extended run to see whether he's got what it takes and we're not going to see that if he's in and out of the side or played as a key defender.

Ferguson was impressive against Melbourne and disappointing against the Bulldogs. He deserves another crack.

Like the rest of you I can't for the life of me understand why Armitage was dropped but it seems the supporters are completely at odds with the coaching panel over his usefulness. He's hard at the ball, tackles hard and wins a lot of the footy. He's a promising kid, play him!

Birss was stiff. I mean he's not a forward so I don't think the fact that he's been our only accurate shot at goal for the season should play a role in his selection but he's hard at it and can shut down a dangerous opponent as he did against Heath Shaw.

I'm a big fan of Gilbert and in fact one of the part sponsors of him and Geary on Saintsational but he was disappointing before his injury and I really can't see him making an impact on his return from a 6 week shoulder injury. Surely he should have come back through the VFL?

The Harvey inclusion is a surprise and should he not play I hope it's either Birss or McQualter rather than Fiora that replaces him.

As for the moron who can't seem to find his own clubs board, we're hardly tanking when the selections have been no different all season.

Just dropping in, I have Armitage in my SC side, he keeps putting up decent scores yet continues to get dropped.

Pissing me off. No clue on why, or if he is going to struggle to get more games this season?

Who knows?

Hard to imagine that he won't be in the best players for the Scorpions most weekends so he'll continue to put his name forward and it's up to the selectors to pick him.

With the position the team currently finds itself in I just can't understand why you wouldn't play him.

Until this season Paul Roos often waited until his kids were into their 3rd/4th seasons before bringing them into the team and perhaps Lyon has the same thought process.

Yes Armitage and Birss out is bloody disgraceful.

Only thoughts are that Gram or Goddard are going to run through the middle given that they brought in Gilbert and dropped those blokes.

Good ins... But Ferguson, Gwilt, Montagna (biggest disappointment and passenger this year) and Geary would have been on my hit list before those two. Even C Jones... Altho that's not a reflection on him, just how highly I rate those two.

Also there has got to be doubt over Kosi,Harvs, Gilbert and King coming up for this game.

Who would have thought 12 months ago we'd be asking for Birss to be in the side! lol, he has improved heaps and is a good kick of the footy. Why he has been dropped, I don't know.

Armitage confuses me, even if he isn't performing to what he can be, why not get as many games into him as you can. ONLY way to develop young players, and even though were still a shot (small one) at finals, it won't hurt to plan for the future at the same time. My changes would have been

Out: L Fisher, J Gwilt

In: R Harvey, S King

Give gilbo a run through the 2's.... Gwilt has had years to do something, and many games, just isn't up to it. Leigh is having a bad season, don't know what is wrong there.

P.S: It was blake who towelled up Goodes in Round 1 wasn't it?
