In my opinion people like McGuane and Hughes were not getting games because TW had made the dision that they will be in our future team so they can go back to Cogurg, not et beaten up and allow 2 more positions to be avilible for him to try out more kids. I would like to see Richmond line up like this for the year:

R: Simmonds

R/R: Johnson

RV: Foley

B: Raines - Thursfield - King

HB: Newman - Polak - J. Bowden

C: Deledio - Tuck - Edwards

HF: Hyde - Hughes - Tambling

F: Brown - Richardson - Pettifer

INT: Pattison - Jackson - White - Howat

With McGuane to get a game against taller Forward lines, and a young small midfileder like White or Howat to be droped.

Thoughts...and your own version of how you would like to see Richmond line up it team for this year.

I don't think we should have one base formula going into every game. I think the players who play well should be rewarded with games and the players who play poorly be taken back to Coburg.

As far as playing youngsters go I think as even when they play for Richmond they don't get heaps of game time (as evident by Huges, White and Howatt on the weekend and Edwards perviously) there spots should be rotated unless they are really impressive.

Positions like Howatt, White, Huges should be rotated so that players like Riewoldt, McGuane, JON, Casserly play more games by seasons end. While players like Schultz, Moore, Meyer, Hartigan and Krakouer should really have to impress at Coburg before they get a call up. Hopefully Conners and Peterson may be able to snag a spot in the Seniors side by round 22

At this stage, Hughes looks like a Jeff Hogg MkII with a bit more goofiness about him. Got a few stats in a dead game, and everyone is talking him up like he is some kind of answer. Yeah ypung he might be, but seen to many of his age, come in and announce to the footy world that they are here to stay. The only people talking Hughes up are the hope addicts.
I await his emergence. So far, is just ahead of Patto in goofiness. ;)

Johnson is not having a very good season, even though he is captain he needs a game in two's if TW is basing the team on performance

LOL... maybe Kingsley to FB is the only change I would make..Jon even gets 2 positions!! The scary part is they are all playing in their positions though. But then again, even the WC and Cats teams you could do this with and make their team with their current lists look pretty average. But we do need to be playing some of ours, not to make sure of the spoon, but to see if they are worth keeping.

That sent me on a stats look see...

there is only 1 team who has played more players from their list than us...

Melb have only 8 players who haven't played seniors, the wobbles, Bummers (i think it was), and us all have only 10 players that haven't been given a run and at the other end, Sydney have 17...even when they are losing it is hard to break into that team eh!

I wanna at least draw that race, lets chuck in 2 more younguns, namely: Carl and Daniel.

From last weeks footy record, there were 9 who hadn't played.

Brown played, leaving 8 :)

Casserly
Collins
Connors
Coughlan
Hall
Hartigan
Knobel
Peterson

3 have been injured all season. ( cogs, hall and knobel)

Peterson has been playing for to Coburg 2nds while he recovers from injury.

That leaves
Casserly, Collins, Connors & Hartigan. None of whom have really impressed for 4 quarters with Coburg ( yet ).

I can see unto 5 or 6 of them getting a game (not cogs or hartigan, with Knobel unlikely ), but only to show them what it's like ( and to get Hall to 100 ).

Our best team now when everyone up and fully fit i think would be

King, Thursfield, Raines
J.Bowden, Polak, Newman
Tivendale, Coughlan, Tambling
P.Bowden, Richo, Pettifer
Brown, Schulz, Deledio
Simmonds, Foley, Tuck
Johnson, Hyde, Pattison, Jackson

Emerg: Polo, Hughes, Riewoltd

mite have forgoten somone there but i still think pat bowden is value to us

Best fully fit team for us would be

B: Hall - Thursfield - J.Bowden
HB: Raines - Polak - Newman
C: Deledio - Foley - Johnson
HF: Tambling - Richardson - Hyde
F: Pettifer - Brown - P.Bowden
FOL: Simmonds - Coughlan - Tuck
INT: Tivendale - Polo - King - Pattison
EMR: Krakouer - Jackson - Schulz

Was a tough team to make and the last spot up for grabs was between Pattison and Krakouer but Patto just made it for the 2nd ruckman option. I had Hartigan as EMR but dropped him after a little though and gave Schulz a spot there.

We are a real chance this weekend. Should be a good game with both teams coming off a good win. Travel factor and extra 2 days rest will be in our favour.

My best team_

B: King - Thursfield - J.Bowden
HB: Raines - Polak - Newman
C: Deledio - Foley - Johnson
HF: Tambling - Richardson - Hyde
F: Pettifer - Brown - Schulz
FOL: Simmonds - Coughlan - Tuck
INT: - Polo - Jackson - Pattison-tivendale

I love the way Jackson's been playing the last month, emergency feels a little rough.
