yep that's more or less the expected in's. i suppose you could say spangher and schofield are a bit unlucky but in all reality mckeznie and brown are better footballers and in better form and we do need a back up ruckman in this match.

huge match for seaby - a poor performance will be the end you feel.

I know theres going to be a lot of stoppages and such, but i really dont see the big case for Seaby to be in. We've got a ruckman who can play 80% of the game out in the ruck, Lynchy can pinch hit for the remainder. Then we can have a forward line of Kennedy and Brown during that time. No structural deficiencies there.

With Seaby's inclusion you'd say Cox will do 60-70% and partially in the forward line perhaps, with Seaby doing the other 30-40% ruck work and also in the forward line as a 3rd tall with Hunters omission.

Would Lynch really do that badly against Jesse White? Its going to be just as strenuous for Jolly as it is for Cox. With so many young mids, they only have enough in them to really impact a game for 2-3 quarters, i thought perhaps we could play another mid, like Ebert or Spangher on the wing, in case S.Selwood, Cockie, McNamara or even Priddis returning from injury cant be as effective as we want them to be for the full game.

I think Lynch being up forward more might help us with our goalkicking, having another big target to aim for, rather than going to the pockets for the small forwards (as good as they are). Especially with Hunter out, who has been kicking goals despite his injury.

Seaby was very good last week, and with the amount of stoppages Sydney have I think he will be important. Brown hasn't been used up forward very much, we can't just chuck him up there and expect results, although he is a good player. Keep him in the backline, move Lynch forward for the majority of the game, with some midfield running time as well, and let Cox and Seaby ruck against Jolly/White.

It will allow Cox to not have to ruck quite as much, and give him time to rest up forward/bench and hopefully improve his field kicking as well, because I think he's buggered most of the time when he gets the ball at the moment and it's affecting his kicking.

I think its more the case of not risking an injury with Cox. Whether he is carrying a minor injury or not, that is another case. If we lose Cox to injury, you can safely say we are ****ed, so why not share the ruckload with Seaby until Naita doesnt come in.

Sydney being a slow side is kind of an advantage for us, had it been a quicker side we were playing, things would get real ugly IMO. Though that doesnt mean we are going to match them, we will need most of our young midfielders to have a break out game in this one..

Theres no real tall matchup in our backline for Brown. They have Hall and O'Loughlin, i'd assume Brett Jones goes to O'Keefe. Who does that really leaev Brown with? We all saw the impact he had in his debut at CHF. The Sydney defence hasnt improved in that time either...

Ted Richards named at CHF, he and/or Grundy could spend a bit of time forward and Jolly may go forward while being rested in the ruck.

Richards is named in the forward line, but i think in the end he'll more than likely spend more time down back. LRT at fullback would get punished big time. Who would the Swans matchup for Lecca... Mattner perhaps. It'll be interesting how they try to stop our forwards. Another reason why i want Brown in the forward line, he could really expose that fact. LRT to Lynch, Bolton to McKinley, Mattner to Lecras, Grundy/Richards to Brown/Kennedy. I think theres a couple of matchups we can expose there.

I think we might get hammered in the centre, especially if priddis is a late withdrawal. We really need some guys to step up. Our defence I think can clearly win, and our attack looks formidable enough to kick a winning score. The midfield looks to be the worry.

Agreed. We are uynable to hurt them in the mid field. Cockie is our only hope, Priddis (if in) can work hard but will not punish them. Seaby may give us an extra tall foward while resting and this could be a tactic the Swans will find hard to counter.

The Dockers were good at applying pressure to Kirk and this countered ther stopage tactic, not sure if we have the cattle yet. Again only Cockie looks likely - a big call for him. It is a must to tag the lillle Mcvey out of the game as he gives them huge drive as does Shaw from HBF. Cut them both out as well and we are on the way.

Good will cut in and out but he is a cat and will not stand up if we are tough enough.

So what your saying is we are practically relying on a 3rd gamer to win us this. We're f***ed then.

The man love levels here could possibly rival Spanghers.

Not sure we'll get smashed in the middle, but the one thing we have going our way is the Swans footskills, generally they are not that flash.

As long as we keep out stuctures and blokes like Rosa and Embley dont go chasing kicks, the swans will have a tough time picking their way through the zone.

They dont really have the pace through the middle to worry us either.

If our zone holds and we maintain our pressure on thier ball carrier we can win.

I think if we can break even through the middle we can win, Lynch should play forward all night. He would be too much for Roberts-Thomson, Glass on Hall looks like a strong match up, i believe we are a good chance.
