I heard (from a not overly reliable source) the Rottnest ferries have been cancelled for the weekend due to rough weather. This is the first time in 30 years. That means we are in for some seriously bad weather.

No point having two ruckmen.
Agree, ruckmen probably won,t play a huge part in the outcome!Pretty good team though for the conditions.

Hopefully Gilham and Ladson come in severely underdone and Brown and Kennedy have a field day, 5 each :D

West Coast
B: Matt Spangher, Darren Glass, Scott Selwood
HB: David Wirrpanda, Eric Mackenzie, Shannon Hurn
C: Andrew Embley, Adam Selwood, Matt Rosa
HF: Chris Masten, Josh Kennedy, Quinten Lynch
F: Ben McKinley, Mitch Brown, Mark LeCras
Foll: Nic Naitanui, Daniel Kerr, Tyson Stenglein
I/C: Sam Butler, Matt Priddis, Brad Ebert, Tom Swift

Thats how they should line up on Saturday.
I like this spine as well.
Would prefur Lynchy on the HFF bombing it in opposed Hodge.
Bmac in the FP, Adam Selwood tagging (wait for it) Brad Sewell.
Stinger on Mitchell

Thats how I would like it.

I reckon Josh could kick 5. Shit he's good.

Brown lol? He'll be lucky to kick 2. Not that that's bad, just doesn't quite have the presence of Josh.

If there's lost of stoppages I hope we will be introduced to the new prototype ruckman, clearance machine, where the ruckman has a reasonable part in the outcome. :thumbsu:

Serious question from a bloke who only played a season of footy in Under 12s and hasnt had first hand experience of playing the game alot and knowing some of the skill factors for wet weather...

Considering our disposal hasnt been great by foot, and we have a tendency to 'throw it on the boot'... whereas Hawks might be considered good... is wild gail winds and wet weather an equaliser of kicking skills, or does it reduce kicking effectiveness proportionally? ie... will crazy weather mean (guesstimated rating to follow) kicking effectiveness for the Eagles would drop from say 70% to 45% and the Hawks from 85% to 60%? Or will it equalise and take both down to like 50% and 55% or something?

Just interested as to how significantly the weather may play in our favour considering when its dry we are often at the mercy of how well some teams can keep possession with quality footskills....

Probably proportionately but they will both look shit. It will suit us a hell of allot more though as we like to kick it long and indiscriminately which suits a wet weather game.

Seaby was pansted by Jaymie Graham two weeks, absolutely bitch slapped. He's either gotten worse, or stopped caring.

Jaymie destroyed him. I think a line has well and truly been ruled through his name.

Hawthorn are vulnerable with no Rioli[/quote]

Yep, the Hawks are a one man team, no Rioli = no Hawthorn:cool:.

Rioli was the difference last time we met, in the rain also.

Is anyone else suspicious of Nicoski's back injury? He must have been getting close to omission. Have the Eagles tried to save face by listing him as injured or has he been carrying it for a while?

No houlihan:eek: I cannot believe he has not been picked considering that we have a youth policy, and we need a pacy midfielder. Any thoughts on where houlihan is going/will be at season's end?

Not sure you'd pick Houlihan given the weather. Light frame, outside ball winner.

Makes sense not to pick him this week.

Its an understandable excuse this week, but he has been in great form for 4+ weeks and not named, starting to get worried that he may leave end of season.

Why would he leave?

It's pretty obvious he'll be given an opportunity at some stage, most likely for Swift. If he were to go anywhere else he'd start in the same spot. On the fringe.

If he holds his form for the sharks, he'll get his chance.

Spot-on :thumbsu:

When he gets his chance I suspect he will give his all and from his continued good WAFL form you would have to think he would not disappoint.

The problem is that he has held his form for the last 5 weeks and not gotten a game. its not like Swift has been tearing it up in the seniors though. I would like to see swift back to the Wafl as he does not look comfortable.

Yeah he's played well for the Sharks, no one is denying that but he still has some shortcomings in his game. Granted his role will be as an outside ball carrier but he still plays a little too outside if that is possible.

His tackling is also non existent. Im sure he would have been given a licence to run and carry, but West Coast would also be hoping he can develop his defensive game a tad more.

This week would not suit his game.

Let's not forget Swift had some outstanding games for Claremont before he was given the call up, it's not as if he hadnt earnt his spot.
