Duh Oogs, you don't go anywhere touristy at Xmas/NY or school holiday time! Go again in Autumn, stay for the weekend and rug up, take a thermos of hot coffee and a blankie to the penguins..its soooooo much nicer.

I think the St. Kilda option is better Wooshette. Go down to St Kilda and go for a romantic dinner preferably at a restaurant that hasnt burnt down or fire bombed. The money you save on petrol and admission fees can be used to pay for parking

It's a lovely place, couldn't live there but it's got nice restaurants and surrounds. It was my anniversary maybe 5 years ago. My mrs was shopping in Fitzroyalty all day so I caught up with some mates, had about 400 beers then ate really rich duck at a fancy dinner and it ended up all over StKilda footpaths. I don't eat duck, I'd forgotten that night.

Boarding 11pm international flight. campaigners roll out a meal around 12.30am. A full one. What the ****? We all ate before we boarded. Then the nanny state in the sky - drinks cart taking aeons so I purchase two cans. Wasn't allowed to have the second can until I finished the first. Ridiculous.

I was right in the middle of the plane coming back from Berlin so the cart got to us last. By that stage they had run out of everything. They know how many people are on the flight so how the **** can they run out of food!

Something similar happened with myself ... so they offered me 1st class dinner. Taste crap like economy ... just more of it.

Yeah I flipping hate that. Bring me a six pack you campaigner and I'll grunt and throw an empty at you when I want six more. :mad: I've learnt a trick though when flying domestic. Buy the mrs a coke from the vending machine to take on the plane then order 2 beers and they think it's just one each. Then at the end they walk past and see you with two cans on your tray. THATS RIGHT BITCH, **** DA MAN!
