Would have to be one of the worse A.F.L venues. I would honestly rather play our football at bloody Lalor Bloods homeground. For some reason we cannot kick accurate at the Telstra Dome, M.C.G is clearly the better ground. Not to mention the players complaints about the turf, many players have sustained serious injuries due to it. I really feel something needs to be done, we need to move our homegames elsewhere.

Thoughts?

Done to death,

but seriously the ground issues have been resolved and there seems to be no major complaints this year from the players about hardness.

In terms of a stadium for fans, it's more comfortable than the G.

Of course the G is the ultimate venue to watch and play the game on but second best in the AFL for us Carlton supporters is the Dome and we gotta get used it. As a melbourne based club and not being Collingwood we will always play at least a couple of games at the dome a year and so we must get used to it.

It's amazing looking at stats in the Record today of all current AFL venues we do not have one venue where our wins at the venue exceed the losses (yes even at the G). Although we have won more games in our history than we've lost it just goes to show how much our team misses Princes Park as a playing venue.

Yes,
yes,
yes,
against a strong Victorian side maybe, but if we're going to play an interstate side I'd much rather play it at the Dome, where it's partially full, as opposed to am empty MCG - particularly on a cold winter's day.

Mate, you're a classic. And you don't take people seriously because they are too negative? All you ever do is whinge. If it's not the biased commentators, it's the sub-standard turf. Think from now on you can be Mr Pot and I'll be Mr Kettle.

I agree.... it's clearly the grounds fault that blokes can't kick straight... and complaints have been flooding in about the surface this season. Something needs to be done.

So you would rather us play our games at the TD, instead of the MCG?

totally agree im fine with playing 'away games there' but we really need to get our home games at the g coz no one turns up to the dome as compared to the adelaide game (41,000 at the g)
the dome is good for viewing but the g is the best :)

what makes you think your opinion deserves a new thread mate.
This has already been talked about just this week.

MCG is clearly a better ground because we kick better than at the TD?????????????

Get off it mate.

Yet Freo manage to kick 14.1 & last season Brisbane managed to get to 18.1 before they started missing. It is not the ground's fault that Fisher missed from 20m, directly in front. Or that Fev missed that 'sitter' late in the last quarter. Have a look at where Fev, Fisher & even Edwards were leading to & taking marks. You automatically reduce the percentages when you are having shots from the boundary line. We need to stick to the 'corridor' more often & you will find we will then start to kick accurately at Telstra Dome. If Freo can do it, we should be able to.

Reasons for differences in crowd size.

- Adelaide have a strong following in Melbourne
- Fremantle substantially poor following in Melbourne
- CFC had won two matches in a row leading in to Adelaide game
- CFC lost last week Vs. Bris Lions in a pretty poor showing (especially first 1/4) [And hate to say it, every club has bandwagon supporters who only show up when the team is winning who havent been to a game since 2001.]

But having said that I was hoping for 32,000 yesterday but not at all surprised or dissapointed with 29,000 considering in 2006 only 16,500 watched Carlton go down to Freo at your 'crowd attracting' 'G'. Don't get me wrong, love the MCG but Dome is perfect for Freo, Port etc.
