I am lost for words with praise for this young man, have we ever seen a better start to their career than he has shown in just 4 games. He looks to be one of those players who will eventually have the ability to win the game by himself. He seems to be a similar type to Judd, now i know he isnt as good yet and probably wont be, but if we can hold onto him and he avoids injuries i think he will become one of our top 5 players.

Am i being too over-confident in his ability after just 4 games, what do you think?

I think it is fair to say Ablett, Bartel, and Kelly also had good starts to their careers as well after a handful of games. I wouldn't think he is the best, but certainly up there. Mackie as well.

Plenty have had far better starts to their career.

He will be a great player though, shows all the signs.

Just hope he doesn’t die out mid season like many debutants do after an electric first few games.

Tenace is probably the best rated talent we have picked up the draft in years. I seem to remember that he was rated as high as 2 or 3 before a below expectation finals performance. Is he really the same as Judd?. Maybe but I would have thought he reminds me of a Michael Turner. Less inside but enormous pace and maybe even better by foot than Judd. Judd is definitely stronger and "Blackjack" couldn't hack the amount of attention Judd has received.Judd is an unbelievable talent
Tenace will probably drop off some time latter this year , I hope that gets a nomination in the Rising Star before that happens or he might miss out like Ablett.
Ablett,Tenace,Kelly,Johnson (and yes maybe Mackie,GeeCat) does give one hope for the future. Now if we could find a tall guy that can step in and have an immediate impact like these guys did we would be on our way

Most of which was attributed to Tenace carrying an injury into the finals series.

Is he really the same as Judd?.

In terms of legspeed, skill by foot, and awareness yes. But apart from that Judd and Tenace are very much different footballers from each other. To me it was the similarity of each one's speed that really caused any such comparison.

Rather than compare Judd/Tenace maybe we should do a more relevant Geelong comparison
Mackie V Tenace.
Mackie is still a mystery to me and I'm not really sure what he would be better at than Tenace. I don’t think he is quicker, Marking?Foot Skills?Strength?.I did hear he has a good leap maybe that would indicate he's a better marking option. Game smarts he does seem to read it well At the best, one could hope that Mackie could become a James Hird type and if Mackie did become that good I would gladly eat my words and admit that he was an "inspired choice". That’s a big IF but even if he gets some of the way he'll still think he will be a good player for us.
Tenace could become as I've previously scribed a Michael Turner/Peter Matera type. Tenace just make me salivate, he's exactly what we haven’t been for ages, classy with the confidence to back one self and enough ability to continually massage the confidence when under pressure or having a bad period to keep backing one self. If he starts to kick multiple goals as winger his benefit could be huge to the Cats. I'm seriously on the Tenace Bandwagon
The question is, how much upside is there to these two? Probably heaps. How quickly can we get them to the next level? The next level would be them being comfortable in the AFL and expecting to get a game, a bit like GA now, so if we can play them 30 or so games in the next 2 years they should be at that level What players would threaten their position in the side? Steve Johnson will threaten Mackie in a few weeks but I'm not really sure who going to kick Tenace out if he keeps his form up. Not Bartel, Not Thurley
This week will be a test for both, yes they have played a few games but it will be a different type of pressure at Skilled. Remember the buzz when GA went near the ball his first year well I'd expect that for these two and it will be interesting to see how the handle it.

As good as Kane has been for us, I wouldn't be surprised if Bomber and co. drop him back to the Magoos every now and then. I don't expect him to play more than 12-14 games as a first year player. History shows not many first year players can play so well as to warrant a spot week in week out (The likes of Judd, Riewoldt etc. being the exceptions). Even young GAJ had to be dropped back.
